- The Cat’s Eye Nebula – an amazing planetary nebula with a white dwarf in the center.
- The Spirograph Nebula – also showing the white dwarf star in the center.
- A white dwarf (in the bottom left) is still hot, but it is much smaller than it originally was.
- A white dwarf is a star that has collapsed down to about the size of the earth.
- White dwarfs contain the carbon ashes that the star has left behind. Some astronomers speculate that this carbon could cool and form giant diamonds the size of planets.
