“I took this particular course because I felt the need to have a greater understanding and knowledge of Early Church History and how doctrine was created. I also wanted to know more about the early church fathers and their input. As a minister, I now have a healthier understanding of God’s faithfulness during the establishment of the church and during times of persecution. I can now clearly teach about the developments of early Christian doctrine and how the government of the church was established. Throughout the age of the church, the enemy of God has regurgitated false doctrine to cause division, and this course has comprehensively provided information on false ideas, theology and evil conduct during the early centuries, and these we need to continue to bring into the light and avoid. As a minister, I will continue to work on integrating the early church history, doctrine and biblical wisdom and knowledge to establish a healthy church community.”

“This course has helped me have a better understanding of the early history of Christianity which I knew nothing about. The course highlighted heroes of the faith as well villains. The course outlined and stressed the battles that were fought over the years both externally and internally to preserve the Christian faith. The course has helped me to better understand that in every era, there are forces opposing Christianity both from within and from without. Every generation has its own unique battles to fight. By so doing, the course has helped to strengthen my faith in God and sharpen my willingness to make necessary sacrifices for Christianity just as others in the past did. As a matter of fact, this course has made me take a second look at my own faith in God. After reading about the persecutions that the early believers endured and conquered, I am left wondering if I would be able to withstand such fiery persecutions  that the early Christians suffered. I cannot help but ask myself if my faith in Christ is as strong as theirs. This course has strengthened my resolve to stand firm in my faith and trust that my Lord and God will never leave me nor forsake me.”
