BECOME AN OFFICIANT OR MINISTER
At Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), we believe in the power of accessible, high-quality ministry training. Our programs are designed for those called to serve, offering a pathway to get ordained online through the Christian Leaders Alliance. This partnership allows us to provide a comprehensive training and ordination process that equips you to fulfill various officiant and minister roles within your community and beyond
OFFICIANT CLERGY ROLES
Serving with tradition & authority
OFFICIANT CLERGY ROLES
Our Officiant Clergy Roles are inspired by the ancient priestly functions described in Leviticus 10:11, bridging traditional practices with the needs of contemporary ministry. These roles are foundational to serving God’s people today, offering ceremonies and teachings as priests did in Old Testament times.
Wedding Officiant
Our Wedding Officiant program prepares you to perform local weddings, requiring approximately 10 hours of training. This role not only enables you to officiate weddings but also to launch a wedding ministry within your community, gathering one essential recommendation for foundational recognition. See Skills Course Wedding Officiant Skills Course (1 md)
Romance Officiant
The Romance Officiant role supports individuals in enhancing their romantic relationships, guiding them towards engagement, marriage, or vow renewal. This program aims to foster healthy Christian relationships, integrating teachings on love, commitment, and faith. See Skill Course: Romance Officiant Skills (2 md)
Funeral Officiant
As a Funeral Officiant, you’ll provide comfort and support to those grieving the loss of a loved one. This important role trains you to minister to the bereaved, offering services in churches or funeral homes with empathy and understanding. See Skill Course: Funeral Officiant Skills (2 md)
Ministry Officiant
Our Ministry Officiant program supports a broad spectrum of services, from ceremonies to blessings, based on New Testament qualifications for elders or deacons. This versatile role allows for a combination with other officiant responsibilities, enhancing your ministry’s breadth and depth. See Skills Course: Ministry Officiant Skills (3 md)
Christian Officiant
The Christian Officiant program is our most comprehensive offering, integrating all officiant training courses with an advanced Officiant Ministry skills course. Tailored for those eager to serve their church or community, this program prepares you for a wide range of ceremonies and engagements.

BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY TODAY!
Are you a Christian looking to become a wedding officiant or explore other ministerial roles? Have you ever considered the possibility of getting ordained online? While online programs exist that offer ministerial credentials, it’s essential to understand the potential concerns associated with “instant” or “purely transactional” ordination.
The crux of the matter is the depth of preparation. Like other professional certifications, ministerial credentials should ideally involve thorough training and expertise.
Different ministerial roles require varying levels of training. Some positions may demand less preparation, while others necessitate more extensive study. For example, becoming a Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant involves understanding the role of a wedding officiant in the ministry, knowing how to address couples, familiarity with local regulations, comprehending the theological aspects of marriage, organizing wedding programs, managing rehearsals, crafting meaningful wedding messages, and conducting the ceremony.
Christian Leaders Institute partners with the Christian Leaders Alliance. At Christian Leaders Alliance you study free ministry course. Then the Christian Leaders Alliance recognizes your study and guides you through a globally recognized and local ordination.
This partnering program includes:
- Online Ministry Training – In addition to the Wedding Officiant Skill courses, Christian Leaders Institute offers hundreds of ministry training courses, including dozens of classes suited for minister credentials. Get ordained online through credible instruction.
- Endorsement Process – You need endorsements to receive your credentials. The Wedding officiant has only one recommendation, but the full ordained minister has three. This offline recommendation process makes your license and ordination more credible.
- Global Digital Directory – Once you complete the endorsement process, the Christian Leaders Alliance posts you on the Global directory minister Directory, free of charge.
- Order Credentials – We suggest you order your minister credentials. In the USA, packages range from $125 to $300. These packages include a letter of good standing, an ordination certificate, a clergy parking pass, Clergy ID and more. See Clergy Kits.
- Commissioning – Christian Leaders Alliance suggests you have a commissioning time in your local context. This commissioning lets your community know what God has done in your life.
