RECEIVE THE RIGHT TRAINING
Training is a crucial first step in becoming a wedding officiant. The CLI offers an in-depth Wedding Officiant program, delivering the necessary training and credentials to officiate weddings. This program collaborates with the highly esteemed Christian Leaders Alliance, a credentialing organization that has licensed countless ministers. See Directory of Ministers. The curriculum covers essential subjects such as:
- The Christian interpretation of marriage
- Basic pre-marriage counseling and conversations
- Legal requirements for officiating weddings in most states
- The officiant’s role during the wedding ceremony
- Designing a memorable wedding ceremony

- Assisting with rehearsals

After completing your training at CLI, you can seek ordination as a Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant through the Christian Leaders Alliance.
This organization validates the CLI’s wedding skills training. Upon concluding the program, you’ll be eligible to secure a Christian Leaders Alliance Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant credential, empowering you to officiate a wedding professionally and confidently.
Once ordained, it’s keeping a copy of your ordination certificate on hand is essential, as you might need to present it as evidence of your qualifications.

- Enroll in the Christian Wedding Officiant Skills course and commence your training.
- After completing the Skills course, you will enroll in the Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant Recognition Class. This class recognizes your online training and completes your ordination into a local geographic endorsement-based ordination credential. You will be listed in the Christian Leaders Alliance Directory, and you may order your ordination credentials. You are eligible to register a local ministry at a Soul Center.
