Ministry Knowledge Training

Ministry Knowledge Training

My name is Jerry Walker and I am receiving ministry knowledge training at Christian Leaders Institute. I’m 54 years old and I have a wife and four kids. I was born in Florida. At the age of fourteen, I gave my life to Christ and was baptized. I went to church with my grandmother at a very young age. I was always told that I had a calling to spread the word of God. As I got older, I got into the world and had my “fun”. I went in the military after high school. I ended up going to war, but I knew God was with me. After the war was over, I got out and returned home. When I got out, I hung with my friends who were going to parties and clubs. Occasionally, I would attend church. I always wanted to study theology. As I got older, I would often get called up and was told I was supposed to preach the gospel. I was in denial and trying to run from it. Just about anytime I went to a church they would ask me if I was a minister. God was constantly sending me signs.

When I was in my early thirties, I recommitted my life to Christ. I was a musician at church and I loved it. After a few years, I became a deacon at the church. I had members and friends that always came to me with problems. It was amazing that I could tell them something and it would come to pass. I was told that I had the gift of a prophet, but I didn’t run around praying and saving people. I was like in a shell. God would tell me to do something and it would pass me by. I’m at the point where it is time to heed his call. I’m taking this course at Christian Leaders Institute to build a strong foundation of the Bible. I want to be able to teach the word of God and know what I’m talking about. My goal is to earn a degree in ministry and I will not stop until I succeed with my goals. I ask that you pray that I grow in the knowledge of God and am able to spread His word.
