WASHINGTON'S STATE LAW
To conduct weddings in Washington, you must be aware of the specific state regulations. Generally, Washington allows ordained ministers and designated members of recognized religions to officiate wedding ceremonies.
- Ordination or Authorization: In Washington, officiants should be ordained ministers or authorized representatives of a recognized religious organization.
- Documentation: Officiants might need to show proof of their ordination or authorization if asked by local officials where the wedding is taking place.
- Legal Age: In Washington, you need to be at least 18 years old to officiate a wedding.
- Residency: Washington doesn’t require wedding officiants to be residents. They can come from any state or country.
EXPAND YOUR MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY
Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) has been providing Biblical free ministry training through its “give it forward” program since 2006. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of accounts have been created. CLI offers various recognitions, including awards, certificates, and diplomas, through its Christian Development School. Additionally, CLI provides college degrees through its Leadership Excellence School, known as CLI’s Leadership Excellence School.
Christian Leaders Alliance (CLI) is a strategic partner of CLI and operates an international Global Ministers Commission. This commission oversees the ordination path for clergy in various ministerial roles based on their studies and recommendations. Since 2014, thousands of officiants, ministers, and ministry chaplains have been credentialed and are serving their communities. See Directory. Christian Leaders Alliance also manages Soul Centers, where credentialed ministers can register their local geographic ministries if they choose to do so.
Flexible Timeline:
CLI’s program offers flexibility. Basic ordination can be achieved in less than ten hours of study and one endorsement. If you’re looking for deeper knowledge and advanced ordination, more extensive courses are available.
Credibility Matters:
Being associated with the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) adds credibility to your ordination. It emphasizes your commitment to proper training and recognition within the broader Christian community, ensuring the validity of your ordination. Partnering with the CLA can elevate your reputation in the local Christian community and enhance your ministerial legitimacy.
The Importance of Legitimacy:
In Washington, with its unique culture and history, the role of a wedding officiant demands credibility. Couples want to know their chosen officiant is qualified, has the required credentials, and follows Washington’s laws. With CLI and CLA, you can ensure you offer reliable and respectful services that honor marriage and adhere to state regulations.
