I grew up in a Southern Baptist church here in Jefferson City. While my Grandfather was a Sunday School teacher and my Grandmother was the pianist for the church, I grew up in a broken home and faught going to church often because of this. My mom was a believer but my father was not. Out of laziness and at least one parent that never wanted to attend I fell away from the church in my preteen years. It wasn’t long after I fell away from the church that I was introduced to drugs and alcohol. I spent my teen years and most of my twenties drinking, doing drugs and chasing desires of skin.
About a year and a half ago I was cleaning my life up. I had found a good paying job and started as a volunteer with a local fire department. During this time I was on my back porch one night and heard acalling in my head. I was told to stop what I was doing and join the ministry. To go with God and to never look back. Well here I am, not looking back!
My ministry dream is to not just teach those who may be lost, but to also show them, that living in God’s favor is not just possible, but fairly easy to do! My ultimate goal is to work with at-risk children through a church as well as having lots of support groups for drugs, alcohol, grief or any other ailment that God can use me to help with. I refuse to limit myself to old traditions of man.
Being unemployed at the moment I will not being able to proceed with this school unless I get a scholarship. I generally do not like asking anyone for money, but in this case I am not asking for me. I amasking on behalf of Jesus so that I may have the tools to spread the Good word.
I pray and hope you will pray with me that our Father in Heaven blesses this path in my life. That He will put the people and resources in my path so that this mission can be as successful as I dream. I pray He continues to lead me down apath that will grant me eternal glory. I praise Him for delivering me from the path I was going down and delivering me into His grace! In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

My name is Bob Russell; it is with sincere gratitude that I write this letter, I was born and live in the Unites States of America.
How is it to minister in my own country, sometimes very frustrating? There is without question; Christian problems throughout the world and some that I am not aware of, but I do know that our country is in terrible spiritual condition. We are under constant attack from those who are attempting to erase God from this great country. As I attempt to witness too many today, it seems they are too busy or feel no need to include God as a part of their lives. However, I am thankful for the freedoms that we still have to worship God.
I was born again on May 24, 1998. Prior to that time, I was what you would call a convenient Christian, when it was convenient for me I would attend church. I always knew that something was missing in my life and that I needed a closer relationship with God, but lacked the knowledge to pursue that intimate relationship. Neither my parents nor any of my family members ever attended church even though my brother and I would be taken to Sunday school and dropped off. We never experienced any teaching within the home. As I grew older I would visit different churches always searching to fulfill the emptiness in my heart. Then one day I met a woman who is now my wife and she was a Christian; she invited me to church and when the minister began to preach the Word of God without compromise, I knew I had finally met the living God, and he was there waiting to receive me as his own.
I was saved at the end of a Sunday school class when eight men laid hands on me right there I gave my heart to Jesus Christ. A short time later I felt the need to be baptized in water; later in my walk I received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
My ministry dream is to continue pursuing knowledge which will enable me to more effectively share the gospel with sinners and also to equip me to become a better Sunday school teacher, and if in the future the Lord calls me, I desire to be prepared for a Pastoral position. I do enjoy praying with people, and sharing with them the good news of the Gospel.
I looked at other ministry training programs that seemed to be very good, but I am limited in finances as well as time to be able to attend. Now that I have finished the basic program with CLI, which was an outstanding program it gave me exactly what I was looking for, and for the fact that it is scholarship driven program, it was a great gift from the Lord. I appreciate the knowledge I have gained, and plan to become a donor to this fine program.

Evangelism – Peter Gichia of Kenya is a student at CLI who feels God’s call to be involved in evangelism. He shares about his close call with the law that led him to study and practice evangelism.
“My name is Peter Gichia a kenyan citizen and born again christian. I am currently working in Afghanistan with a non governmental organisation as an electrical technician under the umbrella of NATO security forces in tempolary basis.
It’s very challenging to do evangelism for Jesus here keeping in mind that this’s an islamic state with 98 percent of them being muslims. For the few months i have been here i started evangelism to my fellow workmates and also some local people. As someone who is actively engaged in evangelism, I organise with some few people whereby we could have a house fellowship after work to access the way foward to preaching the gospel.
I met Jesus several years ago, when i was wrongly accused of stealing being an employee of certain company in kenya, was arrested and taken to court then to remand prison. Being there i prayed to GOD and vowed to him that if he would deliver me from prison and my case withdrawn i will serve him the rest of my life.GOD is faithful because one week later i was set free and the judge said there was no enough evidence to convict me so i was released and went home. i didn’t immediately fullfil my vow as i had promised GOD because i accepted Jesus for some few months then went back to sin again. I thank GOD for he kept on reminding me that am a sinner who needed repentance, and later after several years i responded to his call and i was trully born again.”
With a strong call for Evangelism, Peter needed the right training.
“Am a leader of evangelism team in my church and i usually organise open air crusades and house to house evangelism in my home area. my main ministry dream is to reach the unreached part of my country with the gospel of Christ Jesus.
I thank GOD for what CLI is doing in my evangelism for it came at the exact time of my need,Through the training i continue getting am advancing on the word and also my daily walk with him. my team will also be a beneficially for i will share what i have learned and above all my evangelism ministry will benefit alot. Thank you CLI for what you are doing all this for free, GOD will continue to bless you and expanding you boundaries.
I together with my team would request you to pray for us as we intend to take our evangelism where there’s a strong hold of other religions other than christianity in northern part of kenya.We need GOD’s favor so as to reach those souls with the gospel of peace, We are also believing him that he will provide all the the support in terms of food and money through out our evangelism late this year.
