Prison Ministry – God has laid a desire in the heart of Rob to be involved in Prison Ministry. He is grateful for the religious freedoms of the USA, but he feels most call to make an impact through Prison Ministry. Rob shares his passion with us.
“Hello I’m Rob Kerley from the United States. The USA is a great place to be because of the freedom we have to chose what ever religion we want and not be persecuted like those in other country’s and suffer when all they want to do is worship and praise our Lord and Savior. We are truly blessed to have been born and raised in the US and have the freedom to chose what we want because so many don’t have what we take for granted everyday.”
As a child, Rob was exposed to the faith that would lead him to a Prison Ministry.
“I went to church as a kid with my grandmother (who raised me) but never really understood who or what God or Jesus was till I got much older. I had a older couple that was a neighbor when I was growing up that took me in like their son and taught me about Jesus and shared His wounderful Word with me. At 18 I went in the Army and my life changed for the worse and fell to the temptations of alcohol. In 2009 I trully felt that It was put on my heart and mind to give my life to Him and do His will. God delivered me from my past of abuse and addiction and all I can think about now is sharing His love,mercy and forgiveness with the whole world, especially through a Prison Ministry.”
He has a dream of sharing Christ among the forgotten, a need for a homeless and Prison Ministry.
“My dream is to share God’s word and love with everyone I talk to and share what He did for me. All I can think about is helping those that are lost and feel alone. Take His Word and Love to the homeless, to those locked up and forgotten about in our prisons, letting them know that they are loved and someone does care about them and that someone being Jesus who died for all on the cross.
I feel that CLI is one of the best things that ever happen to me for a few reasons. The first is all that I’ve learned up to this point and could not have been done, with the level of desire that the instrutures have for the Word of God like they do here, any where else. I really can feel their love to teach and help others to have the same desire they have for God’s word.To get a scholarship from CLI would be a true blessing for me becuase I could get the training and knowledge I need to help those in prison and the homeless. I know because of my disability and the lack of money it would be every hard for me to go to a college and get the high level of training and schooling that I get from CLI. If I don’t get the scholarship to continue at CLI I am still thankful and blessed from what they have taught me so far and thankful to be given the chance.
I ask that you would pray for my family and that the Lord would give them the strangth and understanding to continue the walk with me while I fulfill my dreams and goals of helping others. I also ask that you would pray for me to stay focused on my family and thier needs as well. Please pray that I stay in Gods will in shareing His love and forgiveness and never to fall into self gain or to ever think it’s any of my doing.

I grew up in a Southern Baptist church here in Jefferson City. While my Grandfather was a Sunday School teacher and my Grandmother was the pianist for the church, I grew up in a broken home and faught going to church often because of this. My mom was a believer but my father was not. Out of laziness and at least one parent that never wanted to attend I fell away from the church in my preteen years. It wasn’t long after I fell away from the church that I was introduced to drugs and alcohol. I spent my teen years and most of my twenties drinking, doing drugs and chasing desires of skin.
About a year and a half ago I was cleaning my life up. I had found a good paying job and started as a volunteer with a local fire department. During this time I was on my back porch one night and heard acalling in my head. I was told to stop what I was doing and join the ministry. To go with God and to never look back. Well here I am, not looking back!
My ministry dream is to not just teach those who may be lost, but to also show them, that living in God’s favor is not just possible, but fairly easy to do! My ultimate goal is to work with at-risk children through a church as well as having lots of support groups for drugs, alcohol, grief or any other ailment that God can use me to help with. I refuse to limit myself to old traditions of man.
Being unemployed at the moment I will not being able to proceed with this school unless I get a scholarship. I generally do not like asking anyone for money, but in this case I am not asking for me. I amasking on behalf of Jesus so that I may have the tools to spread the Good word.
I pray and hope you will pray with me that our Father in Heaven blesses this path in my life. That He will put the people and resources in my path so that this mission can be as successful as I dream. I pray He continues to lead me down apath that will grant me eternal glory. I praise Him for delivering me from the path I was going down and delivering me into His grace! In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

My name is Bob Russell; it is with sincere gratitude that I write this letter, I was born and live in the Unites States of America.
How is it to minister in my own country, sometimes very frustrating? There is without question; Christian problems throughout the world and some that I am not aware of, but I do know that our country is in terrible spiritual condition. We are under constant attack from those who are attempting to erase God from this great country. As I attempt to witness too many today, it seems they are too busy or feel no need to include God as a part of their lives. However, I am thankful for the freedoms that we still have to worship God.
I was born again on May 24, 1998. Prior to that time, I was what you would call a convenient Christian, when it was convenient for me I would attend church. I always knew that something was missing in my life and that I needed a closer relationship with God, but lacked the knowledge to pursue that intimate relationship. Neither my parents nor any of my family members ever attended church even though my brother and I would be taken to Sunday school and dropped off. We never experienced any teaching within the home. As I grew older I would visit different churches always searching to fulfill the emptiness in my heart. Then one day I met a woman who is now my wife and she was a Christian; she invited me to church and when the minister began to preach the Word of God without compromise, I knew I had finally met the living God, and he was there waiting to receive me as his own.
I was saved at the end of a Sunday school class when eight men laid hands on me right there I gave my heart to Jesus Christ. A short time later I felt the need to be baptized in water; later in my walk I received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
My ministry dream is to continue pursuing knowledge which will enable me to more effectively share the gospel with sinners and also to equip me to become a better Sunday school teacher, and if in the future the Lord calls me, I desire to be prepared for a Pastoral position. I do enjoy praying with people, and sharing with them the good news of the Gospel.
I looked at other ministry training programs that seemed to be very good, but I am limited in finances as well as time to be able to attend. Now that I have finished the basic program with CLI, which was an outstanding program it gave me exactly what I was looking for, and for the fact that it is scholarship driven program, it was a great gift from the Lord. I appreciate the knowledge I have gained, and plan to become a donor to this fine program.
