Lynn Stocks –
“Hello. My name is Lynn Stocks, and I live in the United States of America in the state of Alabama. Ministry in the USA is not as hard as it is in other countries, but it still has its trials. People are more open to listen to the Word but many want to change it to fit their needs.
“I came from a christian home, attended christian schools, and attended church on a regular basis. My father had his own church in our garage for a while, so people in the neighborhood could hear the Word of God without feeling ashamed because they didn’t have the best clothes or drive the newest cars. He thought that everyone should be able to hear the Word no matter how they were dressed or arrived at church. To me knowing the Lord has just always been there.
“My ministry dream is to be able to bring the Word of God to those who feel they are unworthy of the gospel due to financial issues or living situations. Many churches look at their members’ checkbooks instead of their hearts. I want to be able to preach to the multitudes like Jesus did. I want to help all who are asking for the knowledge of the word and the peace that comes with it.”

“I am disabled and have no income. I depend on my son, who works to supports us and makes sure we are safe with a roof over our heads. I want to learn as much about the Bible as I can. I want to make my ministry dream a reality, but I can not pay for formal college. With a scholarship for CLI, I can make my dreams come true and spread God’s Word to those who are in a similar situation to me.
“I would ask that you pray for my strength and my health so that i am able to help others that are worse off than me.”
God calls His servants from everywhere in the world, regardless of status, wealth, or perceived ability to be effective. Lynn Stocks realizes this truth, and she wants to do something about it. Despite her own condition and needs, Lynn Stocks wants to devote her time to bringing people who are in poverty the gospel of Christ.
Lynn Stocks truly understands what it means to share the gospel of Christ “without regard to persons.” She also understands what it means to sacrifice your own personal comfort to serve God in places where others are not willing to go. You can help Lynn Stocks minister to the poor in the United States with a donation to Christian Leaders Institute. Every donation helps ensure that people like Lynn are equipped for their service and calling!
Samson Manyathelo –
“My name is Samson Manyathelo. I am from Botswana in the southern part of Africa. Botswana is a land locked country that has economic and social cross board problems. Because Botswana is a developing country, the work of the gospel is constrained somehow. Nevertheless we appreciate what God is doing in our country many places have received the gospel of Christ. The bush men residing in the Kgalagadi region have not yet received much of the gospel due poor infrastructures and language barriers.
“Growing up as an orphan led me to receive the Lord at a tender age of 15 years. Since that time the lord has been faithful to me. I came to know the Lord through a friend. This friend invited me to church so I could play a keyboard, but when I got there I experienced the love, freedom, joy, peace, and happiness of Christ. I never looked back. I started playing keyboard after 4 years, which was the right time because by then I had grown in the faith.
“I really thank God for His Grace. Being called to the ministry of the gospel, I desire that God uses me to touch this nation for Christ. I want to reach the areas which are not yet reached. My dream is to have a 3 to 5 hectare place where we will build the church auditorium, an orphanage center, a bible school, and a farm.”

“The CLI scholarship will be of great importance to me. It will equip me for the work of the ministry so that I am lacking nothing when challenges of ministry come. It will also help me to reach to the lost with the gospel of Christ. This scholarship will assist me since I have financial constraints in the ministry due to the economic state of my country. Pray that God gives me the grace to finish my study. Also pray for financial breakthrough to see my dream of building the church auditorium, orphanage center, bible school, and farm for the need to come to pass if the LORD tarry. ”
Samson Manyathelo has a God-given ministry dream: he wants to bring the gospel to one of those increasingly rare areas of the world where it’s never been heard before. Samson Manyathelo also wants to help the poverty stricken populace of his own city. With a scholarship from Christian Leaders Institute, Samson Manyathelo will be better equipped to fulfill his God-given dream.
You can help Samson Manyathelo do God’s work in Botswana. All it takes is a small donation!
Hironobu Horioka –
“I live in Japan. I served a local church as a pastor for 8 years. After that I became a principal at Hokurikugakuin high school established by the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America (PCUSA) in 1885. I worked there for 8 years and quit the job at the end of this March.
“One Lord’s day I attended a Sunday morning service after an absence of around 5 years. I then participated in Sunday morning services regularly, and the message of the Cross completely overwhelmed me. In the Christmas service in 1985, I was baptized to become a Christian at the age of 18. On that day my mother’s patient prayers were answered by our heavenly Father.
“My ministry dream is to serve the work of the Holy Spirit. I want to lead people to be born again, and I want to nurture all of God’s people with the bread of life. I want to accomplish this by establishing a Christian Center at Hokurikugakuin Educational Foundation. I also dream of unifying the churches in Hokurikugakuin.
“I strongly believe that now is the time when we Japanese Christians should walk with God as the light of the world, by the power of the Holy Spirit. However, our church, “the united church of Japan,” doesn’t have appropriate programs to teach people how to walk with God. I believe CLI’s programs will be helpful to strengthen Japanese Christians. At this point CLI’s programs will be integral in training Christian leaders in Japan. For this reason, I want to study CLI’s courses as many as possible by myself. After that I will recommend this program to others.”

“I’m not working right now, and I’m willing to study the Bible again. I don’t seek academic gain; I press for the more profitable goal of living and walking with God in daily life. CLI’s program will be helpful for me to study Bible again from the beginning. After studying CLI’s courses, I will share my reproducible walk with God with anybody whom I encounter as a neighbor in my life.
“In the local churches of Hokurikugakuin, the average congregation size is less than 40, and few young people attend church at all. This is because of the strong Buddhist tradition in our area. Pray that the Lord will use us greatly in Hokurikugakuin, bringing many to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through us. Also pray for the unification of the churches in Hokurikugakuin.”
