Sheldon Rox –
“My name is Sheldon Rox, Pastor of the Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Indiana. I have been blessed to start my studies at CLI and I have been truly blessed.
“I reside in the USA and minister in a small city. It is very challenging to minister in a small community Church, because everyone in the Church is related to each other. God has a sense of humor when calling some to Pastor, when asking to lead a congregation of His people, He often time gives you those who truly need a Shepherd to lead them.
“From an early age, my family were in Church, so I was introduced to the Lord and developed a relationship with Him as my Lord and Savior.
“My ministry dream is to build a Church full of people who love God and desire to do His willing until the day He returns. My dream is not to build a big building, but to build up a people of God who want to change the world by the Word of God.”
Sheldon Rox Receives a Scholarship
“A scholarship from CLI is important to my ministry, because I pastor a very small Church that has a hard time paying a small salary let alone pay to sent me to school. I believe to teachers and preachers of God’s Word needs to be well educated on the Word of God to rightly divide His Word.
“I ask the CLI pray that I continue to seek God’s face and lead His people to a grater understand of their relationship with His. That we grow in spirit and truth as we prepare to minister to a world that everyday become more lost without Jesus.
“So, please help support CLI in anyway you can, so others like myself can study the Word of God and lead more people to the Lord.”
Sheldon Rox has been called to be a leader of God’s people in a small town. However, the congregation of the church lacks sufficient monetary resources to get him into traditional seminary training. Sheldon Rox knows that although he learned much about God growing up, there is still much more that he can learn. That is why Sheldon Rox was led to Christian Leaders Institute. Here, people like Sheldon Rox get free training every day so that they can be equipped, and they in turn can then go out and equip others.

“My name is Jodie Powell and I live in the United States, I suppose faith and Christianity is different in the United States than some other countries. Most Americans are aware of or are curious about God and His existence, as opposed to some other countries who have never even heard of God and know nothing of Him. To do ministry in the United States is quite different; we are able to seek the training to do so and being a free country we are able to openly share our faith and plant churches.
“I first came to know the Lord as a child, although I did not grow up in a Christian home I frequently attended church with the elderly lady who lived across the street from out home. At the age of 5 I asked Jesus to come into my heart, I fell from the Lord many times growing up but finally came to the Lord once again at the age of 30, repenting of my sins and surrendering my life to Him for His purpose.”
Jodie Powell Receives a Scholarship
“I feel God has called me to do missionary work, I desire to teach God’s word and His love to those in other countries. I also greatly desire to bring to the Lord those who live here in the United States, as well as in my own community. I want to know so much more about God, I seek knowledge of His word, His love, His will. I prayed for a very long time for God to reveal Himself more to me and to direct me, one evening I felt God calling me to Bible college. I started my search and ended up here at CLI, I asked God “Is this it? Is this the one?” and needless to say here I am! Each day I pray for the Holy Spirit to fill me and give me understanding of all CLI has to teach me, I am so excited to see what God has in store for me through CLI, what a blessing and wonderful opportunity.
“Please pray that God will use me through this experience, that all the training here at CLI will be for His glory and that I will be a empty vessel for God to fill with His knowledge and love to share with all His people.”
Jodie Powell grew up knowing the Lord. As many others who came to know Christ at an early age, Jodie Powell experienced the spiritual struggles of many years of wandering. Now Jodie Powell feels God’s call on her life. Jodie Powell is ready to leave her country and go out into the world in the name of God, preaching the gospel in His service. She is not concerned with the comforts of the U.S. or the discomfort of a foreign culture. Jodie Powell is concerned with receiving a solid foundation in the scripture for her work. Christian Leaders Institute can give Jodie Powell the training she needs as she prepares to do God’s work on the mission field.

Adesina Akanni –
“I came to know the Lord as my saviour in November 1997 in my final year at the then Ondo state university, now Ekiti State University. Since then I have grown in grace by the help of the one who saved my soul from the wrath of hell and reconciled me back to Himself.
“In the UK, there are different walls or partitions built by the Government legislation to reaching the lost for Christ. One of these is the notorious law that bars you as an employee from sharing your faith with a colleague at work place. These various legislation are further compounded by the British apathy to Christ and what He could offer. Indeed, Britain, where I sojourn, is filled with all kinds and manners of challenges built by the enemy to reaching people for Christ.
“Our desire in ministry is to positively transform every community and every life that would have contact with the power in the word of God.
“Therefore, we have adopted what we called the outreach, impacting, and releasing strategy to achieving our ministry objective.
“The outreach is to recruit potential soldiers of the cross, training them to be ministers of the cross and releasing them to plant more churches.”
Adesina Akanni Receives a Scholarship
“The scholarship from the Christian Leadership Institute would facilitate the knowledge required to fulfilling these goals in ministry.
“We need the prayer of the saints to be strong to fulfill this ministry that God has committed into our hands.
“We appreciate the grace of God bestow on you to accomplishing this task of impacting the saints through education. We pray that God who has begun this will empower you to the end in Jesus name.”
Adesina Akanni has a vision. Today, Britain is a country filled with apathy toward Christ and barriers to preaching to the lost, but Adesina Akanni envisions an army of soldiers of the cross breaking down those barriers. Adesina Akanni has a means to fulfill his goal, but he lacks the training, knowledge, and experience. A scholarship to CLI will provide Adesina Akanni with all of these so that he can further pursues his ministry calling.
