Chris Weedin –
“My name is Chris Weedin and I am a lifetime Christian living in the USA. While we enjoy tremendous financial and material benefits, our country has been enduring a long slide away from our founding fathers’ moral and Biblical roots. I have lived with this decay for my entire life and believe that it is the responsibility of every American Christian to stand in its way, relying on the power of God, the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and the teachings of Christ to give us the strength to do just that.
“I have served in various lay ministries in the past forty years, and recently have been called to more direct service by God as the Associate Pastor of a small rural church. I know in my heart that God has placed me and my family in this position to powerfully influence our community in His name and for His glory: to bring healing, change lives and provide hope and strength as only God can. My dream is to fulfill this calling to the very best of my God given abilities and let Him blow the spiritual doors off of this community.”
Chris Weedin Receives a Scholarship
“As a happily married father of two with a mortgage and a second career, I simply can’t afford the education that is critical to carrying out my mission. Without CLI, I would not be able to continue.

Chris Weedin has been serving God in various capacities for his entire life. Yet, he sees something that troubles him. Chris Weedin sees a Christian culture that is moving away from the core of the teachings of Christ and toward liberalism or legalism. Today, Chris Weedin is called to an associate pastor position, and he wants to deepen his understanding of God and the Bible so that he can be more effective at this position. Chris Weedin knows that with a scholarship at Christian Leaders Institute, he will be better equipped to serve in the leadership position God has given him.

Andnet Dagnew –
“I studied theatre arts and graduated in 2003 from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia). I prefer to study the subject because I was very interested on defining life through performing arts. After I have been graduated from university I wrote, translate, direct a lot of theatre performances. I received Jesus Christ while I was reading a book of Myles Monroe titled “Understanding your potential” trying excelling my potential in my career. In the book I understood the source of potential, power, and the means to release it is Jesus. I decided to stick with the trunk since then.
“‘John 15: 4 Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.’ I was growing in His word and spirit while I was practicing theatre performances. Finally God called me to define clearly truth of life for believers and unbelievers than blurred definition of theatrical performances.”
Andnet Dagnew Receives a Scholarship
“My ministry goal is to establish a unity of believers as Jesus told us emphatically we must do. Together we will establish cultures, a way of living which is a standard of God’s kingdom knowledge. ‘John 14:15 -16, 21 If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.’ ‘John 15: 10, 12 – If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.’
“It is very important to me to get a scholarship from Christian Leaders Institute. Because I need to know how to live as church leader; I want to know God’s kingdom knowledge us much as I can because I am responsible for a lot of people in the future; I want wisdom how to manage churches.”
Andnet Dagnew received his ministry calling while studying theater arts. The world is full of denominations, churchgoers, and new and great answers to the age-old Christian dilemmas, but Andnet Dagnew has learned that there is only one proven method of building godly communities. Now Andnet Dagnew is seeking a scholarship at Christian Leaders Institute so that he can be made perfect in his knowledge of the Lord. Andnet Dagnew wants to use the methods taught at Christian Leaders Institute to bring a reproducible Christian culture to his country that is sustainable and Christ-centered.

Paul Slauter –
“I am currently living in the United States of America. Ministry in the United States can be practiced with little to no resistance. However, growing trends against Christianity and moral values have increased in recent years. As stated in Romans, God will give people up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. What once was wrong is right, and vice versa. From abortion to same-sex marriage, the United States is quickly becoming morally broken. Hence, the need for biblical ministry in the United States is crucial, as it is everywhere around the world.
“I was baptized as an infant in a Lutheran church. From there I went to several different churches–Methodist, CRC, Baptist, Non-Denom, and back to Baptist. My walk with God did not really start until I attended a CRC church in Junior High School. Catechism produced a biblical foundation to place my faith on. I made profession of faith when I was in High School at my local CRC church. However, as I became engaged to my beautiful wife, circumstances made it necessary for us to find a new church home. That is where (after careful consideration) chose a local Baptist church. This church is where I was able to couple my “head” knowledge from the CRC church and gain a real relationship with Christ. After a couple years of attending this church, we were relocated for a while due to my job–where we attended a non-denominational for a while. Most recently, we have moved back to the Greater Grand Rapids area and are now able to attend our Baptist church once again. My faith has grown in the past few years, but most importantly, my personal relationship with Jesus has continued to grow exponentially. In addition to the church and specific family/friends, music has played a huge role with my walk with Christ. I cannot play/sing music, but I love finding different genres of music and worshiping the Lord at the same time. All things considered, I truly believe I was born totally depraved and without the grace and mercy of God choosing me, I would never have chosen Him.
“My Ministry dream is still yet to be fully realized or without an end goal. The broad dream is to continue to Advance the Kingdom of God. If I had to choose specifically right now where I believe the Lord is leading me–I feel led to the path of becoming a pastor. I am not sure if this is a senior or administrative pastoring role, but a pastoring role is where I feel led. I also am considering the possibility of a church plant. For now, I will continue to pray and seek first the Kingdom of God.”
Paul Slauter Receives a Scholarship
“A scholarship at CLI will help me get the training I need. Many of the seminaries around me do not offer a schedule that will fit with my full time job. Currently my wife is a stay at home mom and I am the only source of income. CLI has made it possible for me to keep my full time job, have my wife continue to stay home, and get the training I need without sacrificing my reproducible walk with God, time with family, or my work life. CLI will be a tremendous asset for me and many others to serve God more faithfully. A scholarship will make it possible for me to continue on the path the Lord has laid out for me–He has prepared works in advance for me to do, and I think completing some advanced training will only help me get there.
“Please pray that I will be humble, quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get frustrated or angry. As I walk down the path of ministry the Lord has laid out, please pray that I will recognize when He closes a door or opens a door. Pray that I will have strong convictions in my heart from the Lord to go the way He has chosen. Lastly, pray, pray, pray for all those who do not know Christ right now–and for those who do all around the world. God Bless.”
