Young People are still seeking God. And the fact is the number of Christian Leaders who are called to reach this seeking group is less and less. “Jesus said, ‘Be fishers of men,'” says Harvard University professor Robert Putnam “and there’s this pool with a lot of fish in it and no fishermen right now.” Putman has researched trends in the religious belief and habits of young people in America.
Who is going to reach the young people?
I am praying that God is going to raise up young Christian leaders to do the reaching. I am praying for young Christian Leaders who know what they believe and are willing to lead those in their age group who need God.
We have many young Christian Leaders studying at Christian Leaders Institute. One of those young people is Stacie. Stacie is 19 years old and lives in New York. Stacie came to know Jesus in her teens. She writes, “I came to know Jesus personally when I was 17, I had known “of” Him but never had a relationship. I went to a revival and that’s where I really started to wanted to know more about Jesus and what exactly my walk with Him could be!”
At Christian Leaders Institute many young Christian Leaders are signing up for classes. These young people are taking advanced classes. Many young Christian Leaders like Stacie do not have very much money so they can not afford the high tuition for ministry training at many schools. But at Christian Leaders Institute the free classes for those that finish the getting started class is exactly what she needed.
Stacie has a bold ministry dream. “My dream is to start up a ministry and help bring youth like myself to know more about Jesus and His love for the world! I believe this generation is a fired up one and I want nothing more than to be apart of it!”
Stacie is a young woman fired up to make a difference for God. The Apostle Paul encourage Timothy to be a young Christian Leader who is worthy of her calling. Paul said, Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.(1Tim. 4:12)
Stacie asks for prayers for her ministry journey, “Please pray that I have a boldness and remember that it’s all to fill His Kingdom and serve Him. That my ministry will reach the height God intended. Thank you!”
Quality Training for Young Christian Leaders
Students who have went to various other ministry training schools were asked if Christian Leaders Institute delivers high quality ministry training.
“Praise God for CLI! I have learned a lot from this school, knowledge and discipline I never had before. I wish I have known this when I was a lot younger. CLI definitely offers high quality education for free. ”
Each day more news of chaos bombards our senses. Recently in Kenya, we heard of terrorists who would kill innocent lives seeking to make a media point for their cause. Now more news at LAX airport where a killer showed up and killed a TSA agent and wounded many others. The Christian Science Monitor reported that the scene at the airport was chaos everywhere. The result is that more and more of us are are beginning to conclude, chaos is the new norm. Chaos seems to be getting out of control. The “chaos” difference makers are getting all the headlines, shared instantly via Facebook and online media sources.
Personal Chaos and those difference makers like Miley Cyrus
What is also reported is the personal chaos that is plaguing beautiful and famous people. Each week we read another story about

some famous person who is teetering on the edge of chaos. Miley Cyrus once was the promoter of wholesome values. Those values have been rejected by her now and she is living the “party” life, which may careening into more chaos. She is the most gossiped-about media star right now. The fact is that young people are looking for a happier life and Miley Cyrus “looks” like she has it all. Many young people admire her and want to be like her. But many of the media star have crashed and the media moves on to talk about the next young star who is fun to gossip about.
Difference Makers are Needed Now
At some point lost souls will ask themselves if they are really happy. Will there be a difference maker of peace who will introduce a different way of life? Often difference makers of peace are those who used to be mired in chaos themselves. I have met many of them at Christian Leaders Institute. I have met former “party girls” who crashed so hard into the wall of chaos. And just when their souls were dying, some difference makers showed up into their lives. Some times those difference makers came from unlikely sources. A former lover found lasting happiness and shared how God brought peace out of the chaos. Some times the difference makers were trained Christian leaders who were used by God to bring life to a dying soul.
Joseph R. Pelkoski is married to a beautiful woman of God, named Susan. They have three children living at home. Eleven years ago, Joseph was using crack cocaine. The “party life” was running its course and Joseph was heading down fast. God sent several difference makers into his life, one of them was his sister Marilyn who invited him to come live in her Christian home to help him get off drugs. Within a week, he accepted Christ and started attending “Celebrate Recovery.” He unfortunately fell back into drugs shortly there after; God humbled him again. Now off drugs again for quite some time, Joseph has found greater peace than the chaos he used to sniff.
Joseph wrote, “After God humbled me, I feel a strong urge to share Christ with others, first in my town of Windber, PA, second in Somerset County and Cambria County and third the world. I am not sure if God is leading me to be a pastor or to become a missionary. For now, I just know God is leading me to share the Gospel. I will go anywhere God leads me.” Who knows how God will use this difference maker.
Bible School in Jamaica – Could a CLI Student from Jamaica change the world for Christ? Because of the Internet, Christian Leaders Institute can open a Bible School in Jamaica where even the poor can receive excellent ministry training. The unique aspect of this Bible School in Jamaica is that the entire school is beamed into the relationship between the student and his mentor.
How does this free Bible School in Jamaica work?
The process starts with a called student. Meet Kimaro Smith. His story moves me to raise more resources so that Christian Leaders Institute remains FREE of charge to even the poorest of the world.
Kimaro Smith is a young man from a crime ridden poor area of the world. Can anything good come out of Clarendon, Jamaica?
The US State Department talks about Jamaica this way: “While the vast majority of crimes occur in impoverished areas, random acts of violence, such as gunfire, may occur anywhere.”
Living on the beautiful Island of Jamaica can be difficult. Drug related crime is pervasive. Sexual assault cases are common. Violent crime is very high. Some parts of Jamaica are very dangerous.
Most Jamaicans are poor, but hardship stalks rural Jamaica. According to the Gleaner, those living in rural Jamaica are twice as likely to live in poverty than those in the Jamaican cities.
Kimaro Smith, from rural Jamaica senses the call to bring revival everywhere. Because of online ministry training from Christian Leaders Institute, there is now a Bible School in Jamaica and specifically in Clarendon.
Kimaro prayed, “Here I am, here I stand, Lord, my life is in your Hands.”
Kimaro tells his story: “As a young Jamaican growing up within the rural area of Clarendon, my mother was ‘heaven-bent’ on ensuring my growth in the church by sending me to Sunday School (even though, she wasn’t a Christian).”
By the time Kimaro was thirteen, he was becoming cynical of church and God. But something dramatic was about to happen. Revival for Kimaro came. He attended one more church service and ”the Holy Spirit swept my heart and spirit into the loving arms of the Lord. I decided at the age of 14 years to take a ‘WALK-With-GOD’.”
“Matthew 9:37-38 – Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’ I believe and trust that I’m a worker who has been ‘called’ into His harvest as an evangelist, to rescue and steer the lost sheep from slaughter to the green pastures of the Almighty and already that mission has begun with my own family and others.
It’s my dream and duty to travel the globe declaring the Gospel and empowering the saints.
It is therefore significantly necessary for the development of myself and my ministry that I am equipped with the knowledge and training of the scriptures as taught by the Christian Leaders Institute and as stated in 2 Timothy 2:15 – ‘Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.'”
Kimaro has boldly made this statement: “I have taken on the responsibilities, as a man of God, to see to it that the Word of God as declared by the Lord Jesus Christ and His disciples is spread to the ‘four corners’ of the world, and the teaching at Christian Leaders Institute would be a push towards such a calling by a young man from rural Jamaica.”
Help me in my struggle to keep ministry training free so that young people from a poor place can be prepared to bring revival to the nations.
Bible School in Jamaica Mentor
Kimaro Smith’s mentor is the Bishop Trevor Williams who supports his young “Timothy.” He wrote me and said, “I happen to be his pastor and I am only too willing to make the facilities of my church available to him and others who are so inclined to pursue Theological studies with your institution.” Thanks to Bishop Williams for his help to aid this Bible school in Jamaica.
