Outreach Ministries
Hi my name is Anthony and I live in the United States. Here we have the freedom to choose what religion we will follow though Christianity appears to be the most visible religion in this country.
As I recall, I came to the Lord at a very young age. Although I did not know much about the Lord and His purpose for my life, I did feel this purpose would be life changing. I always felt His presence in my life especially when I would move off the path. A faint voice would call out to me about what is right and wrong, and eventually guide me back into the fold. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)
My ministry dream is to have a Christian Outreach Ministry dedicated to serving the homeless, the hungry, and the helpless. I would like to share my blessings with others as well as facilitate getting others to share their blessings with people in need. “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. . .”(Matt 25:35)
I think I identify mostly with evangelistic ministries, because of my desire to minister to people outside the church. The key experience in my life that prompted me to pursue ministry was surviving a heart attack. I realized I have very little time on this earth before I meet God. While in this body I want to make every effort to share my testimony, why I have faith in Christ Jesus, and the hope of a better place after death. I want to encourage people to turn to the Lord and live for Him.
My local church is supporting my calling by allowing me to minister at the church and learn directly from the Pastor.
Training from CLI is important to my ministry dream because it allows me to obtain an excellent quality Christian education without getting into debt. I believe the knowledge obtained at CLI will help me achieve my dream of starting an Outreach Ministry within the next two years.
My name is Daniel, I was born in 1979 in South Carolina. In 1998 I joined the military and spent ten years in Virginia with many deployments to overseas locations. Like many people in the south, I grew up in a baptist/non-denominational local church and was baptized at an early age, which seemed like the thing that everyone was doing. For myself, along with most others, Sundays and Wednesday’s became church day, the days when everyone did right, leaving five others days to do what I wanted.
Being in the military and deploying to many times to overseas locations, I have seen many things, different religions, customs, social interactions and most prevalent how quickly live can be taken away and how random death can be. While not the best of stories about finding the Lord, the fear of random death will make you think and reflect. While running around in circles during this reflection many times I was pulled to, then from, then back to God with the assistance of a very patient military chaplain.
1. I am currently residing in South Carolina, which presents an extremely permissive environment for ministry, especially the southern baptist denomination. With a church on just about every other street, it is not difficult to find one you are looking for.
2. As mentioned above, a final decision to approach God stemmed from constantly witnessing death and its randomness. While some people will think fear is not a way to truly come to God, this fear speared my search for what everything means. Answers to questions like, why are we here and what is this life all about, why is death so random and why did the person beside me die while I did not. These types of questions require thought and searching and wondering what life had in store for me because I was spared death this time.
3. My dream for a ‘ministry’ is more of a one on one basis with people in need. Much how the chaplain listened and guided me through my search, waiting until I was ready in my own mind to receive what he had to say. His actions spoke volumes to me, while some people dream of leading a mega-church on television, my experience was via a one on one engagement and this is the way I feel will give a person a true experience to receive God. Our relationship with God is a one on one basis and this is how I want to present it to the next person in need.
4. The word I would most identify with would be ‘small group leader’. While leading hundreds to the Lord at a time would be great, it is that personal one on one interaction that allows people to help others grow in their walk.
5. The experience that lead me to pursue a ministry is my own search. If I had the fear of death because of my surroundings, then other people probably did too. If I was searching for answers, then other people were too. If I found my answer and knew what other people were going through, I would be able to render assistance just as I was assisted.
6. While most people would not see many obstacles to ministry in the United States, the fact that long established churches are everywhere means a vast majority of the people in the area have already heard about God and for whatever reason have turned away from the message. These types of people pose a challenge, because before you can give them the message you will first have to break through the preconceived thoughts they have already formulated.
7. I have recently moved to my current location and while my family has visited several local churches, we have not yet chose one to call home.
8. My wife is supportive and understanding of my pursuit of a small ministry to help those in need.
9. CLI’s offer of a scholarship while providing high quality curriculum allows me to get the training I need without having to worry about how and where the money would come from to pay for the education. Additionally, with CLI being a non-government university I know that I will be receiving an education directly from the Bible uncensored by the government.
Christian Leaders Institute Offers Free Courses In The Philippines.
Greetings! May the mercy and grace of the Almighty be on us forever. My name is Tito Lim. I reside in the southern part of the Philippines. Our country is a supporter of a democratic policy which observes freedom of religion. Hence, doing Christian ministry here is not very difficult. In fact, you can find various religious congregations in almost every nook of the entire nation.
I came to know the Lord through my mother who used to be a devout Catholic with a remarkable church devotion. However, at some point she was exposed to a civic and religious organization which her interest in eventually led her to leave her Catholic activity. My mother then spent most of her time devoted to her new affiliation. She convinced all our family to become members. The Philippines Benevolent Missionaries Association, Inc. was in its early stages and we were so engrossed by its captivating principles and teachings. The “mystical” biography of its founder whom the members equate to the one and only Son of God made many believe the founder Ruben Edera Ecelo, Sr. was a savior. This reason was probably the main reason my mother decided to leave her Catholic devotion and migrate to our present town of residence. This is where the organization’s main office and the founder’s residence are located.
I was very young at that time when this all happened being about the age of 12 to 13 years. I am the fourth among the seven children. Obviously all of us were stuck under our parent’s wings so that our adherences to their faiths were not contested by any of us. Only within the last 3 years have I found myself intently reading the Bible and felt the need to seek for the truth. I have come to know much of what we had been believing in contradicts the Words of God. I brought my discovery to my parents, brothers, sisters and a few relatives who are loyal members of that association. Their reactions have been a mixture of positive and negative and half of them showed indifference or ignored me. However, thinking about our spiritual salvation, I keep using chances to instill in them the truth I found. The truth I firmly believe is worth living more than anything else drives me to continue my search.
I am still in the beginning of my religious learning which I pray will help me learn how to express Christian life and doctrine to my family, friends and neighbors. I didn’t know which Christian denomination I should support so I searched the internet for the right one. During my searches I found Christian Leaders Institute. Thanks to Dr. H. Reyenga and his colleagues for creating Christian Leaders Institute and making it accessible across the internet. There are a number of Christian Churches in my immediate vicinity but, unfortunately, I still feel reluctance to consult any of them with regards to my calling. Maybe because I still don’t have a strong faith in their teachings? I am doing Christian Faith based research all by myself. It is mostly through the internet that my knowledge about the Scripture and other related topics are augmented.
I feel a very strong conviction to pursue my spiritual journey, even as a step by step procedure which I can do here at CLI. I strongly believe in Christian Leaders Institute’s ability to help me build myself into a highly committed minister. Praise Jesus! I am very thankful for the kind understanding that I am unable to donate to make Christian Leaders Institute free and accessible to everyone all over the globe. One day I might be able, by the grace of the Lord, to donate to this educational cause.
I have not been employed for a few years and am presently living with my sister’s family, who graciously help me to survive daily. This I believe is a “blessing in disguise” because this gives this opportunity to make my spiritual journey with this online education. Praise and glory be to the Highest as here I can freely use their computer and internet access anytime I would like to. What a Blessing! I pray for guidance all the way through my studies and for the realization of my dreams. Thank you to Christian Leaders Institute and may the Spirit of wisdom, power and guidance be with you for eternity. Amen. Sincerely, Tito Lim
