Leadership Development Training In Ministry- Setting A God Walk Foundation
My name is Darin Thomas and I am from Inwood, WV. Doing ministry in the United States is an honor to me. The formation of our country was founded on many of God’s principles and evidence of this can be found on our historical documents, our money, and even in our pledge of allegiance to our country’s flag. Unfortunately, many of our countrymen have lost their way. Crime is on the rise. We see greed in corporate America, and more people are becoming self serving instead of God serving. Regulations on TV and radio are becoming more lax and foul language and vulgar content are now accepted as entertainment. So called reality shows are spotlighting celebrity lifestyle dramas which is damaging the family unit as we once knew it. The good news in all of this is that there is a platform to serve the Lord and minister to His people right in my own backyard. Based on our historical inclusiveness of God in all of our founding values it is clear to me that revival is necessary. Meaning we must lead God’s people back to God.
I was personally brought back to God in 2009. My grandfather was a trustee in the church. My family decided to attend church with him one Father’s day because we felt that at his age our time together was becoming more and more precious. When I attended that service I was captivated by the truth that was being spoken from the pulpit. I began to attend more regularly and what started off as a one-time visit became a regular thing. It wasn’t long before I publicly accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. A few years later in 2013, my pastor, Pastor Peter Thomas Sr., extended the invitation to become a deacon of the church, and I answered the call. Today I also serve on the financial team and the board of directors.
Since high school I have studied business. I currently own a home-based business and all of my work experience has been in, marketing, management, and leadership development. I am particularly passionate about finding and developing other leaders. As I learned about CLI in the introductory class, I found that their ambition is in harmony with my ministry ambitions. They wish to train and mobilize Christian leaders so that they may duplicate themselves thus creating an army of God’s people. I aspire to train and mobilize Christian leaders as well. I aspire to become a pastor and in that capacity not only preach the word of the Lord, but also implement programs, education, and accountability that will help called leaders get what they need in order to advance the Kingdom. I believe in call to action. It is my vision that I will move people to action, and help lead them to deliverance and abundance in the name of Jesus.
When I was called to be a deacon it really woke me up to the fact that God was raising me up as a leader. It was then that I really began to take my ministry training seriously. As I began to meditate on God’s way, it opened doors in other aspects of my life. I became a better leader in my business because I could lead people through life situations. I discovered that often people who thought they had a money problem really didn’t. What they were struggling with was vision, integrity, self-esteem, and other things. And these root issues were causing the money shortage. If I wasn’t led, I couldn’t lead people out of these situations. Soon I found myself leading people to financial freedom and spiritual freedom at the same time. I started looking at my business as not just a profit center but a platform to lead souls to Christ.
Whenever you network you meet people who know people. Your circle of influence begins to expand geographically which is great but challenging. I have business partners in states that I have never been, but thanks to technology I am able to minister to them via emails, chat, phone, and web conferences. Thankfully, I have been getting a ton of support from my church family. I go to a very small church. I noticed that nobody else was aspiring to become a minister. While I understand not everyone is going to aspire to do these things, I found it strange that nobody was taking the necessary course of action. I began to remember what my mentors in business taught me. People need leadership. I found that once I announced my ambitions in ministry everyone began to rally around me. Now they are inspired and to dream again.
My family has been very supportive. My grandma frequently puts me in tears when she tells me how proud she is of me. She says, “Your grandfather would be so proud of you!” My parents have always believed that I was destined for great things. Lastly, my wife and kids are my responsibility. As the head of the household it is my God mandated duty to raise them up as believers. To love them and lead them in God’s word. My wife is a deaconess and my children, though very young, are already mighty prayer warriors!
Leadership development training with CLI will help me achieve my ministry goals. It is important that you have an education to accompany your work ethic and vision. My desire to serve the Lord is already in place. My vision grows larger and more clearly every day! CLI can offer me the top notch education I need to see the mission through. I am grateful for this leadership development training opportunity. Pray for me as I raise up my family. Please pray that I stay root focused by learning and leaning on God’s word, but that the fruit of this may inspire others. Lastly, unite with me in prayer that I may bring God glory by stepping into all that He has for me!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9
Evangelizing in street ministry takes an amazing amount of courage. Yet we find our students with such bravery going into the world to minister to all God puts in their path! Even if that means taking our ministry to the streets across the world.
Life on the Streets Encourages CLI Student to Begin a Street Ministry
My name is Gail and I was born in Philadelphia, Pa. I attended Catholic school and made my sacraments up to my confirmation. My family was broken from divorce and abuses. I left home at 12 years of age. I prayed to God, attended church and confession, and I believed; however, I was missing something. I felt alone and did not seem to find God at the mass I attended. I found refuge on the highways in strangers and never returned home. Life on the streets was tough for a child. I even served time in a San Bernardino, California county jail when I was 15 years old. I was a lost soul being sucked down and down.
When I was 16, a kind stranger encouraged me to find family and leave this life. I found my grandma and she got me in school and helped me find God again. I went to school, got married (still married for 22 years now), had 2 awesome children, and wanted to share my story to help others. I had found that relationship with God that was missing for so long.
I take my street ministry to the streets to the lost souls and the homeless. I help them to know that God loves them and Jesus had made it possible for them to return to God in order to find salvation. I live as an example that all things are possible and God can help us change and excel. Whether it is on the streets or bible studies in my home, I am committed to sharing the Word with others.
I am working on my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I hope to improve my knowledge in the bible so I can be a Christian counselor. It seems that people have lost the value and meaning of God in their lives and I want to help change this. I want to be a Pastor and a Counselor. My dream is to start a street ministry program that helps these lost souls by bringing them to God and taking them off the streets. I am interested in helping those in jails or those caught in the legal system; a Christian program that ministers to them and helps them build a productive life with God.
My family is my life and we follow God together. My husband is supportive and eager to learn. I pray that when I am done in school, I can create this program that will be a shining example of doing the things that Jesus asked of us all. I ask for prayers that this dream becomes a reality and it is a light that illuminates the darkest corners. I hope to be that example that glorifies God.
I am a poor student and I am so grateful to find CLI offers these classes; otherwise I would not be able to pursue this knowledge and improve my ministry. I consider myself blessed to have found CLI!

From Christian To Christian Leader Training
We often find our beliefs in things due to the influences around us. Whatever is influencing others in our life usually tends to cross over to what we will find belief in as well. At some point in our life, we all venture off to see what other things are out there. If you have a friend, co-worker, or significant other, sometimes their belief can peak an interest in ours. But what it all boils down to in the end is Jesus. Time and time again, people who go on a spiritual quest are led to the belief of Jesus Christ being the only true way that is real. Sometimes it’s in a moment where we are doing okay in our life, for others God is the last resort. No matter the when and how. It’s what and who you found.
Now that we have found God, many of us wish to tell the world of the truth and realness behind all this “God” talk. Our new mission in life is to spread the message of the gospel. To say, “He is REAL.” Forgiveness and His love is just as real! We want to see others feel the same joy we have in our Father’s love and the love He has for us. A love He has had for us all along. This is where Christian leader training can help you advance in your own walk with the Lord, but to also help prepare you for your specific calling by God in the ministry field.
After Many Studies, Christian Leader Training Prospers Over All Others
My name is Benardo Daniel Caballero. I was born in Colon, Matanzas, Cuba in 1968. Like every Caribbean in those years, I visited the Catholic Church a few times in my childhood. My grandparents from my mother’s side taught us to respect and believe in God since we were little. As soon as I grew older, I stopped visiting church. I studied the philosophy of Marxism and Leninism in high school, together with the idea that we come from evolved apes. My life was deeply influenced by the spiritism and the curanderismo of the African religions, which were very popular in Cuba in those times. After high school I studied Zootecnia (a veterinarian field) on Habana. After graduating I was forced to go to the army, were any religion was prohibited. I served for three and a half years and came back to school. I studied music education at the Superior Pedagogical Institute in Habana.
The influence of the African religion and the communist philosophy made me a little skeptical about what to believe. I escaped the country on the exodus of 1994 of a raft. By the grace of God, I survived and I was sent to Guantanamo base to an emigrant camp. I lived there for almost a year. There I was introduced to a group of Christians, where I learned more about God. However I don’t remember that anyone ever asked me if I had accepted Jesus as my Savior. I never did. When I arrived to Miami, Florida, I was consumed by the American dream and never went back to church on a regular bases. The few times I did, no one showed me the necessity of being saved or the way of doing it. From Miami, Florida I moved to Louisville, Kentucky and from there to Chicago, Illinois where I became obsessive with being successful economically. In Chicago I meet my wife and was married. I never stopped working toward my goals. I tried many jobs and businesses. After long years of hard work and many frustrations the financial world I had built collapsed. I was desperate and decided to look for answers on God. He was my last resource since I tried everything else. He gave me the answers I was looking for.
We started visiting a Christian Church and the pastor Samuel Gonzales become my first mentor. I learned a lot from him. There I accepted Jesus as my Savior. Thanks to him I have not lost that first love. I waited for my parents to be baptized after they came from Cuba. My wife and I were baptized with my parents at Louisville, Kentucky in 2007. Since then, my life has been a constant growing in my faith and knowledge of God. My wife and I have three boys and we are raising them Christian. I want to keep learning to be a better tool for my Lord Jesus Christ. I try not to miss any opportunity of sharing with people how to become saved.
