My Spiritual Journey
I grew up with my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma, great grandparents, and mom. I never knew what it was truly like to have my parents present. Life as a kid was rough at times. I was rarely with my mom because she was working or preoccupied with other interests or people. My dad wasn’t around much because he resided in Texas when I was growing up, and he still does.
As a child, I came to the realization that I was different in the natural and the spiritual. My walk was different. My talk was different. Even my interest in various subjects was unusual. I was always one to socialize with anyone who was willing. I loved the church and everything about it. It killed several birds with one stone so to speak. I got spiritually fed, physically fed, and mixed in a little bit of peace. My grandma was the chauffeur, and I was her sidekick. Most of the time you could find me alongside my grandma who I often call “Nana.”
God became real the first time I shouted for the Lord. A praise so powerful rumbled in my spirit that I began to jump up and down. Ever since that day, I’ve had a yearning for the Lord. Growing into spiritual maturity was hard at times. I didn’t understand why I felt the way I did. I had so many questions but didn’t know who to turn to during some of those moments. Inconsistency played a major role in my maturity at times. In some areas, I was extremely mature for my age, and in others, I lacked. Unfortunately, the areas of lack were also the areas of neglect.
Bible College Education Free at CLI
I am currently seeking to obtain an education through Christian Leaders Institute. I want to know more about who God is and how to live as a better believer in all areas. My desire is that whoever I come to know or come in contact with will consistently see God in me. And because they see the consistency, they draw closer to God. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be educated by some of the best educators. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to pay for a higher-level education at this time due to the lack of income and my current fight with multiple illnesses. However, being a student of CLI not only gave me hope of fulfilling my dream to complete Bible college but reminded me that no matter where I am in life God can use me.

Hello, my name is Harry Bailey, and I am enrolled at the Christian Leaders Institute for online Chaplain ministry training (Learn more about free online Bible courses, Click Here). I am from the United States in southeastern New Mexico. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 27 years. We have three children and six grandchildren. I work in Law Enforcement and have since October 2001 held several positions to include a police officer.
Finding God
I never had a church background until my adult years, when I started going to church after my father’s death. I knew of God and Jesus Christ but didn’t know anything about Christianity. When my dad passed, it left me wide open with many questions. My wife, a believer and follower of Christ, mentioned going to church. So, one Sunday morning, we loaded the kids up and went looking for a church to attend. I was checking the parking lot for the most cars so I could slip in and out without being bothered. That wasn’t the case. It was like everyone in the building knew I was hurting and looking for answers. I have never felt such sincere love from a stranger or group of strangers like I did that day. That day was September 14, 1997. The day my life changed forever.
Challenges and Healing
I started to feel better in so many ways and wanted to share that healing with anyone I could. So, I went into law enforcement. I thought it was the best place to be. We protect the innocent and help the lost even when they don’t want it. However, I made a big mistake. I jumped in with both feet and forgot to take God with me. As a result, I was lost even more than before. I lost my empathy and hope for people. Worst of all, I withdrew and grew a cold heart due to the things I was seeing and dealing with.
One night, I realized that I needed to get back to God and start over from scratch. Through this journey, there has been a lot of self-reflection. I work on one problem at a time with the Holy Spirit’s help. I thank God every day for the good and bad times in my life. It amazes me how He can change a person and give them a purpose for His glory.
Chaplain Ministry Training at CLI
I feel these experiences have defined my calling in ministry. Our first responders don’t have a dedicated Chaplain in their ranks in my community. I am so grateful that God is allowing me the responsibility to begin to be that visual example. So many see me as a responder they can talk to without holding back the details. I get to be the one that points them to God so they can be healed and find peace and love with the one living God.
I am currently enrolled with Christian Leaders Institute for Chaplain ministry training. Then, I am working toward the degree program to become an ordained chaplain through CLI’s Leadership Excellence School. God blessed me with a mentor who has seen many of the same types of situations in his life, just in a different setting. Together, we are called to start a chaplain program to care for those souls that lay it all on the line.

About Me
I am a 45-year-old bilingual Christian woman from Maryland. Married to an amazing man who loves God as I do, we have six beautiful children between us: three amazing, headstrong young men and three phenomenal young women. I am also a grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren and two more on the way to making four. With my birthday just six days before we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, I have always felt a strong connection with Jesus.
My Journey
My walk with Christ has not been butterflies and rainbows, but not because He ever left me. It has been because I fall short at times. If it had not been for me witnessing four great tragedies in my almost 46 years of life on this earth, one of which includes losing my youngest child on 9/11/00, I might not have ever come to know Christ Jesus as I do or even followed Him.
Many inspiring mentors have guided me to Christ, and very blessed men and women have pastored me. I am a follower, lover, and believer in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I would lay my life down for Jesus and rest knowing it was all for God’s Glory.
Finding Free Biblical Studies and Training at CLI
I’ve always been a hard worker and wished I had more time to better myself in my walk with God. My desire is to be better equipped with the knowledge I need to be a successful mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, server, counselor, teacher, mercy giver, and believer. No matter how hard I tried, it seemed like life would block me, emotionally and financially. It was always a desire and calling to go to a Bible school, a Christian school, or a seminary. I’ve never been able to until recently. God has answered yet another prayer for me to have the time and now opportunity at CLI to do it.
Before the pandemic, I was a Sales Director for Wadham, living well, happy, and loving Jesus. However, I never felt filled enough with the knowledge I wanted. I am eager to learn and teach others what I learned and still never learn enough or teach enough. So now, I sit in my living room writing a little bio for all of you at CLI to understand me a bit. I praise and thank God that He whispered a few words in my ear, “You have the time, and it’s free. Look it up. What are you waiting for?”

With tears in my eyes and overwhelming joy in my heart that CLI started 20 years ago by leaders who desire to help people like me is a true blessing from God. Now, with CLI’s free Biblical studies and training for ministry, I learn and grow in knowledge!
I have a longer testimony to share and someday hope to do that through Christ Jesus and CLI. A wise man by the name of John Michel (a 20-year mentor in Christ) once told me, “Danielle, if you didn’t have a mess in your life or ever have a test, how could you then ever give a message or a testimony? All things through our Father are possible, and when it’s your time, you will forever do so.”
