My Spiritual Journey
But my life didn’t start out so wonderful. When I was a young teen, growing up as the child of an alcoholic mother, I came to believe that the world would be a better place without me. While planning my suicide, God brought a woman into my life who introduced me to Christ. After accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior, my life changed completely.
God has used every means possible to grow me in my faith over the past 40 years. I have learned much through church attendance and good preaching. Also, personal Bible study, daily devotions, and prayer time added greatly to my relationship with Jesus and God the Father. Preparation for teaching Bible studies has frequently caused me to dive deeper into the Word of God than I ever would have for just my knowledge. I truly believe though, that it is daily living through trials and triumphs with God in my life that enables me to say, “it is well with my soul.”
My Calling
Most of my adult life was involved teaching and corporate training. The Lord has provided me with the gift of teaching. So, I want to use it more for His kingdom than just to make a living. When my children were young, I taught school, so I was blessed to have breaks and summers off to be with them. I was able to teach children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and led an occasional adult Bible Study. I enjoyed nothing more than teaching people about Jesus.
In 1990, I lost my dear sister to cancer. Although she had gone home to be with the Lord, I was angry to be without her. God was patient with me. Eventually, He used this loss to plant a ministry in my heart to make quilts for cancer patients around the world. I found myself teaching women of all ages how to quilt and holding devotions at every workshop. Ultimately, I worked with dozens of volunteers which grew into establishing several independent church quilt groups. I love being part of this ministry.
However, I longed to get back to teaching the Word of God. Then a friend asked if I would consider leading a virtual Bible Study. I said yes. I have had the pure joy of leading a weekly Bible Study ever since. So, I know the Lord is calling me to use my teaching gift to bring others closer to Him.

My spiritual dream is to spend the rest of my life ministering to others who need to know Jesus and learn from the Word of God how to live walking in a daily relationship with Him.
One day, my daughter-in-law told me about Christian Leaders Institute (CLI). As I consider early retirement to follow God’s calling, finances are tight. My name is Daniel Tichota. Along with my wife, Melissa, and our four children, I live in Lebanon, Tennessee. At a young age, God called me into ministry. I currently hold the following educational degrees: Bachelor in Pastoral Ministry from Oral Roberts University; Master in Human Dynamics from Western International University; and a Master in Teaching (Middle School Math) at Oakland City University (graduation May 2022). I have already enrolled for a third Master’s in Christian Ministry at Oral Roberts University, which will begin in May 2022. Education, to me, is a passion. God called me to learn so that, in turn, I may be used for teaching at every level. With this in mind, I am getting prepared to teach, even at college-level Bible, by Spring 2024. I want to be used by God to plant a church complete with a Christian school.
My Spiritual Journey
However, first, I want to share my spiritual journey with you. While I grew up in a Christian home, I wasn’t always on track with God. At age 5, I came to know Christ as my Lord in a Baptist church. I still recall the Sunday evening service when they baptized me in the tank with the church watching. However, when our family later moved from the Baptist church to a non-denominational church a few years later, the power of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues came to me. I felt the calling for ministry but veered in my teenage years.
Rebellious toward my parents, teachers, and mostly, God, I found ‘love,’ or at least I thought it was. Truthfully, it was lust. But it became a force that stole me from God for many years. I still went to church, but my devotion to God was haphazard. It wasn’t until I went to college that I realized I needed to recommit to God. And so I did – sold out – or so many thought. Unfortunately, that rebellion left a door open to lust, and I, like Solomon, had only a half heart toward God.
I graduated, married, separated, came back, had kids, and then found myself divorced. There were good days and bad during all that, but I was still only half-hearted. It wasn’t until the divorce that I fell and saw just how much I needed God. I dated to ease my pain, but God showed me that I needed to be His man before being the husband God wanted me to be. So for three years, it was God and me. Finally, when the time and my heart were right, He allowed me to meet my wife of eight years. But to get to that point, I needed first to surrender to Him. I need to surrender daily because sin is always knocking at the door.
My Love of Learning and Teaching
My heart is for ministry and teaching God’s Word to others. I have always loved school, and I am a nerd. I was the student who felt terrible on sick days, not because I was ill, but because I was missing out on the opportunity to learn. As a student, I asked for homework and enjoyed it when my parents’ punishment for my errors was to write a book report. All these clues should have been a hint to me that I was destined to be a teacher.
Now, here I am at the age of 46, looking to put behind me the daily grind of customer service in hopes of making a difference. Teachers in my life made a difference. In 5th grade, my teacher pushed me to excellence in every subject. My 8th grade English teacher coached me in public speaking. Even my choir teacher throughout high school daily encouraged me to shoot for the stars, try new things, and be the person I was destined to be. Their impact on me has not gone unnoticed.
But I want to teach God’s Word. I want to teach people the blessings of following after God and the struggles they may encounter. In the end, I want to bring people into a relationship with a God who loves them all. The ministry training and Bible courses at CLI prepare me for this calling.

How Jesus Has Become My Mission: Life Coach Minister
If anyone had told me when I was a child that I would grow up to love researching all things Christ-centered, I would have said to them that they were incredibly inaccurate. But that beautiful passion for learning about God brought me to the healing, restoration, and relationship I have with God today. My name is Anneliese Fenley. I am from the United States and live on the beautiful Colombia River in Washington. Though not conventionally, God has blessed me with five exceptional children who live all over the United States. I am a Preschool Teacher, and God has given me the privilege of teaching for over 20 years. Although it is a job where I receive income, it has become a place of restoration and home that crashed into my life.
My Story
I was born into a world of trauma, abuse, and neglect. I was trapped in an environment that I had no control over, and I was always looking out the window, hoping for a better life. However, when I was old enough to start school, a whole new world opened for me. The adults were always kind with loving voices. I knew when I would be fed, when I could play, and, if I got hurt or sick, I could go to the nurse’s office, and she would take care of me. Although I had gone to ten different schools by the time I was in sixth grade, the school became a secure and safe place for me.
My story has many layers and pages to it. To go through them all would take an epoch. But that is not what my story is about. My story is about the incredible way God has Restored, Redeemed, and Healed me. My experiences that coincide with the enthusiastic way I chase after God with abundant joy allow me to speak a common beautiful language of empathy and bring a shining light on God’s love and redemption.
God Showed Up
I became a mother and wife at a very young age. It was a dream I had had for as long as I can remember. But because of growing up with abuse and neglect, I lacked even the basic skills to become a successful and responsible adult. Then, on April 1, 1992, everything changed for me. My oldest daughter was born, and my first taste of unconditional love engulfed me. It was a force to be reckoned with. An intense need to protect her became a simultaneous desire that collided with a love my heart couldn’t contain.
My mission began. I was going to break the cycle and figure out how to live life in a brand-new way. On the outside, I looked like I had it all together. The world on the inside, however, was like a merry-go-round. It contained everything I held dear, spinning out of control while I ran around trying to keep everything in its place. Then an alluring, seductive friend came into my life saying all the right things and making me feel better in all the right ways. He was the enemy disguised as alcohol. I could finally breathe again, or so I thought.
But then God showed up. He used my teenage daughter. She was the very person I started my mission for a better way in the first place. God used her to open my eyes and see how much pain and destruction my actions caused. I knew then I couldn’t do life independently and surrendered my life to God. As I said before, my story has many layers. There have been tragedies and difficulties since then. But God has faithfully brought me to the other side, replacing my pain, fear, and anxiety with an insurmountable joy that never depletes.
My Calling to Become a Life Coach Minister
Since I was little, I have always felt this purpose in me that felt so strong. If kept contained, it would burst like an overflowing cannon of confetti. The lack of trust I had for God allowed fear and anxiety to execute the demise of my self-worth and belief system of my capabilities. I told myself: “I don’t know how” and “It would be too hard to learn.”
Then God reminded me in Philippians 4:13 that “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME.” So, with God by my side, I began to learn how. Learning more and more about God’s Word became my new mission. Facts and knowledge have always been a comfort to me. I could rely on them as verifiable, and no one can take them away. As I began researching facts and reading the Bible, the Holy Spirit moved in me. I saw my life changing in a Supernatural way. He became THE TRUTH, THE WAY, AND the how I live my LIFE.
