On the Journey for Life
Hi, my name is Ash Buchanan. I was born in Australia and am a passionate follower of Jesus Christ. Currently, I am getting ministry resources and training at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here).
My Life
I am a husband and a father; I have been a Pastor and will be again. I am a School Teacher and a Missionary who is excited about growing in my faith and sharing that with the people I love and serve. We live in West Africa and work in a Christian School. It is a remarkable opportunity to see God at work in many ways and experience His never-ending faithfulness.
I love running, yet I don’t do as much as I would like to. There is something remarkable about putting one foot in front of the next and repeating that for thirty to sixty minutes. It is also time to be truly alone with God for a moment. At other times, it provides an excellent opportunity to connect with my children. I also love spending time with family and friends, sharing life with the people around me, and encouraging them in their life too. I love connecting with people and adding value to their lives in some way.
My Spiritual Dream
My spiritual dream is to inspire and equip others in their faith journey as they become everything God wants them to be. I long to know Jesus more and more and see that same longing in the people I mentor and journey with. My heart and passion are for the local church. I desire to see them thrive and grow and reach out into the communities where they are planted.
When I was very young, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. However, not until my early twenties did I accept Him as both Savior and Lord. In my forties, I would like to say I’ve learned everything and am a perfect Christian. But the older I get, the more I need Jesus and His grace and forgiveness. I’m certainly further on the journey than I was in my twenties.
Ministry Training and Resources at CLI
However, I know that I’m a work in progress. That is why I am studying at CLI. CLI is a real blessing! It has given me access to ministry training and resources that I can’t get where I currently live. Furthermore, it is in a way that I can afford with my current income level.
I want to continue learning and being challenged to grow in the Lord. Being led by the Holy Spirit and doing my part in embracing God’s will for my life are priorities. Studying the Bible and preaching is exciting! When the Spirit gives insight, and God speaks to me through His Word, it is an honor to share that with others for their growth. My hope in preaching is that those who hear are inspired and encouraged to dig deeper and to think deeply as the Holy Spirit challenges and changes them.

Trust In The Lord With All Your Heart; Do Not Depend on Your Own Understanding
Hi there. My name is Tiffany Greene, and I grew up in Louisiana, USA. I enjoy reading. I love Springtime, and propagating Plumeria plants is my favorite hobby. My husband of 13 years, Matthew, and I have two daughters. After searching for Bible College courses online, I began studying at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here).
My Spiritual Journey
I grew up in church but walked away shortly after entering high school. I turned to a life of partying and sought things I thought made me happy. About 15 years later, in 2017, I was desperate and looking for a way out. It was not the lifestyle I wanted to continue raising my kids. That desperation led me to find Jesus and accept Him as my Lord and Savior.
In 2018, we received baptism as a family and have sought the Lord ever since. Since committing my life to the Lord, I still have some struggles. However, I put my trust in Him. I have faith that He has a perfect plan. Within five years, I witnessed him taking some of my biggest mistakes and using them for His glory.
Ministry Opportunities
Due to my struggles and knowing that Jesus is the sole reason for the joy I live with every day, I serve in a couple of beautiful ministries. I am in a position to connect with women in recovery at my church a couple of times a month through a freedom ministry. Giving God all the glory, I give them hope through how far I have come from where I used to be. I also serve in an extraordinary Women’s ministry that touches thousands of lives each year.
Finding CLI and Bible College Courses Online
Several times in my life, God put me in a place of rest and guided me back to focus on the path He has for me. One day while lying in bed with the flu, I looked into Bible College courses online. That’s when I found the Christian Leaders Institute. After a bit of research, I immediately signed up and began the first course.
I am blown away by what Christian Leaders offers and how thorough and well-done the website and programs are. God’s hand is truly at work within this ministry.
At first, I thought I would just do free courses at Christian Leaders Institute to deepen my personal understanding of God’s Word. After completing 70% of the Getting Started course, I began enrollment in the CLI’s Leadership Excellence School to obtain a Bachelor of Christian Leadership Degree!
I would like to continue serving in addiction/freedom ministry and Women’s ministry. Proverbs 16:3 states, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” I am confident that the courses I complete with Christian Leaders Institute and CLI’s Leadership Excellence School will help me thrive in whatever path God has for me.

My name is Troy Yoppini from the United States. “Who am I that I should go? God chose what is weak.” Therefore, I want to be equipped to minister where God may lead me. That desire led me to the online courses at the Christian Leaders Institute to be further equipped to minister (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here).
In the Beginning
As far back as I can remember, I was in church. I can’t remember anything specific about those early years except for playing in the yard with friends and acting out a battle scene where we fought against the “bad guy down there.” At some point early in my childhood, my parents stopped attending church. I felt a loss. As a child, all I knew was something was missing. But It was like missing a friend or a parent. I remember asking my mom why we didn’t go anymore. I don’t know what she said, but I remember asking to return to church.
For whatever reason, my parents didn’t return. Finally, they sent me to the church less than a block away. It wasn’t easy as the kids there were established and had families there. Nevertheless, I wanted it. The following year as I moved into the fifth-grade Sunday School class, I met my teacher Mr. Goetz. There was something incredible about him. He made the Bible leap off the pages into my heart and soul.
However, it wasn’t just that. He treated me as if I was the only pupil he had. Of course, he did this with all his students, but I only knew our relationship experientially. He was a father figure who loved me and treated me as unique. As a ten-year-old, I was a bit different, asking questions about Eschatology (end times). I’ll never forget that Mr. Goetz let me borrow his “Late Great Planet Earth” LP. I was immediately enraptured (pardon the pun) by the narrative.
The Fall
Then came the Junior High School enlightenment. Without going into great detail about my Prodigal Son Odyssey, I will say I went full throttle as is my custom. “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? 1 Corinthians 6:9. The list that follows that verse was a checklist that I seemed to almost complete. Disastrous choices, one after another, followed. It was like the laws of gravity. It came naturally.
Already, But Not Even Close
Often, at this point in a person’s testimony, we read of a dramatic redemption-style story. These miracles do indeed happen! But not with this guy! I returned to the Lord only to flame out miserably several times. This was devastating to my heart. “Oh Lord, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear?” (Habakkuk 1:2). Sure, Habakkuk was dismayed by the evil he saw and wondered why God wasn’t doing anything, or so it seemed from his perspective. But, similarly, I cried out, “Why Lord, do I keep failing? Why do I doubt and why don’t you make it clear?
Many such intellectual and emotional questions nagged at me incessantly! I had Apologetics books and thousands of hours in audio lectures from Christian institutions. However, I remained blind and, at best, like the blind man at Bethsaida (Mark 8:22-26). Jesus healed me in stages. “I see people, but they look like trees.” My trek has been a gradual, not dramatic, transformation but a miracle, nevertheless! “Through many tribulations, we must enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22).
Marriage
“Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1) Late in my life, God brought my “Sarah,” named Juliet, into my life. We married in the Philippines.
While we were there on our honeymoon, we traveled all over the islands. Early during the tour of her native land, I saw a girl not more than nine years old breathing into a sandwich bag like when they get the hiccups. I asked, “What is she doing?” My bride informed me she was inhaling solvent gasses! In shock, I wondered why? She calmly replied, “Because she is hungry and has no food.” It is common among street children there.
The Call
Later that week, as we were returning from El Nido (a beautiful island in the Philippines), we stopped to have lunch. We found a lovely outdoor restaurant. We selected our food from a buffet line of plenty and sat down. I noticed children outside of the restaurant staring in. I shrugged it off, basking in the glow of our beautiful trip.
Then, my wife asked me, “Do you have any coins?” I gave her a handful, curious why she asked. She got up and walked over to a little boy standing at the edge of the restaurant. He was three years old with worn clothing and a dirty face. She handed him all the change.
Immediately cut to the heart, I stopped eating as I asked myself, “How can you just do nothing?” I didn’t look up for more than ten minutes or eat. I knew that the moment I caught my beautifully hearted wife’s eyes, I would burst into tears. On the ride back, I couldn’t shake it from my mind. For the first time, I knew God was saying, “I want you to go back and help my children.”
Almost at retirement age, I know God is calling Juliet and me back to the Philippines. As of this moment, I don’t know what that all looks like or what He has in mind. But like Abram, I will let God show me the way. However, I know that I need to be equipped to minister in whatever God leads me to do.
Equipped to Minister through CLI
This is where the Christian Leaders Institute comes in! I sincerely hope I will be further equipped to minister in the work God has called me to. “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will” (Hebrews 13:20-21).
