I grew up in Pasadena, Maryland. Since my marriage, we lived in WV, WI, PA, VT, AZ, and now in Tennessee. I am an entrepreneur and family advocate and work behind the scenes in the Film and Theatre Industry. Most importantly, though, I am a husband of 21 years to Christina Vorreyer-Davis and a father to Jacob (6). He certainly is our Gift from God. My wife and I are deaf, and our son is a Kid of Deaf Adults (KODA).

Early Life and Conversion

I grew up mainly in a Methodist background. I attended a church that did not provide an ASL interpreter. So I struggled with understanding God’s Word. However, I went to the Youth Choir and Youth Group, helped with various projects and programs within the church, and went on Missions Trips with my father.

Through our marriage, we struggled to find a good church that was Bible-based and offered a deaf fellowship. When we lived in Martinsburg, WV, we both fell in love with the Independent Bible Church. We were very involved with the church and developed many friends, both hearing and deaf.

Ministry Journey

I had a calling to pursue ministry, but I struggled to obtain a position in ministry. When I was a young lad, I wanted to become a Missionary. In High School, I wanted to go to seminary instead of Gallaudet. My VR counselor stated I must go to Gallaudet as that was the only college they would pay for.

In the summer of 2008, I got a calling from God to attend a seminary. However, at that time, we were struggling financially. Over the years, I looked for low-cost, out-of-pocket ministry education courses and programs and the right program. I didn’t entirely run from God or my calling. Rather, I struggled to obtain it. It is a calling that has been in my life since I was a young lad.
