Taking a Step to More Ministry Opportunities with CLI
Hi, I am Early Grace A. Belayo, a 23-year-old, 4th-year college student at the University of the Immaculate Conception. I’m taking a Bachelor in Medical and Laboratory Science. I am also at the Christian Leaders Institute for their free Biblical ministry education (Learn more about online free Bible courses, Click Here).
My family home is in a small province in the Philippines called Mindanao. We are also handling a church ministry located in the same region.
My Youth
Born on February 1, 1999, I grew up in a ministry-oriented family. My parents are theology graduates in an institute where they met and developed a relationship. Now, they take care of my younger brother and me. Growing up, I was always aware of the value of ministry as I witnessed how both of my parents performed their calling. They have handled almost five churches as they were transferred into different places for their ministry. I have also encountered other people with diverse perspectives, attitudes, and levels of spirituality. I never questioned their absence during a certain point in my young age because I knew they were working their calling.
My parents have always been very supportive of what I wanted to do. They never forced me to a ministry they wanted for me. Instead, they allowed me to discover it while I was growing. However, as I grew, they saw my potential in music ministry; hence they allowed me to find it for myself. There came the day when I first led worship in our former church. I was in the 5th grade when I first led praise and worship. During those moments, I felt the enthusiasm in my heart and discovered my ministry.
I decided to accept it fully. So, from that day up until today, I have been working in the music ministry. I have been a part of different gospel bands and participated in many church and organizational ministries.
What Led Me Through My Calling: Turning Point One
However, even with my activeness in my calling, there were certain points in my youth when I became a two-faced person. There were certain moments of my childhood when I became unfaithful to God. I was a person that is “so near yet so far” to God. I became a rebel and allowed this world to dim my spiritual light.
During those years, I was never genuinely happy. Finally, I came to a point where I prayed to God. I talked to Him about how hard it is for me to let go and begged for help. God is indeed faithful! He immediately answered my prayer! Finally, after those years of being distant from God, I came back. God welcomed me with arms wide open. Indeed, God never allows His children to be lost. He always finds a way.
Turning Point Two
When I started my college journey, I was away from home. The college degree that I chose was not available at the state college in our province. Therefore, I am now temporarily living in one of the metro cities in Mindanao, the Philippines, from the first year to now. During my college journey, I experienced a lot of ups and downs. There are a lot of financial, emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual challenges.
Before coming, I prayed to God that he would continually bless me and allow me to work on my ministry wherever He leads me. God is faithful! After almost one week of being here, I already received a call that allowed me to work in my calling. So, during the two years of being a college student, I managed to work in my ministry. However, I encountered a lot of challenges and tests. There were some instances that I allowed those challenges and tests to consume me. But, I knew deep in me that it would distance me again from God if I kept on allowing it.
Turning Point Two Continued
Another thing was the pressure of my studies. It became my priority rather than my ministry and my relationship to God. So, again, I abandoned my ministry and focused more on my studies.
Then, I became a 4th-year student. That came with a lot of pressure and excitement. It was the last year of my being a college student enduring academic stress. And so it was for my batchmates, but not for me. I didn’t make it this year as I failed my pre-board exam. So, I did not graduate this year. What pains me more is that my family expected me to get through my studies this year. It would lessen the financial cost for them to focus on financing my brother’s college education.
I wanted to understand why it happened to me. So, I talked to God and asked Him why? Not to question Him for allowing it, but I wanted to know where I lacked. While I was praying, I came to realize why. It is because something was trying to enter my system that I kept denying for many years. I never really welcomed it in me because I thought it wasn’t for me. But now, God was giving me redirection again. I wanted this redirection to become a person open to a new journey and a new calling. I want God always to use me in every possible way starting from that day.
Free Biblical Ministry Education Opportunity at CLI
As I begin this new journey, I am blessed already for having the opportunity of studying at the Christian Leaders Institute (CLI). I am also thankful for their dedication to providing free Biblical ministry education for those who are unable to finance their studies but want to be more equipped to spread the Gospel of God. CLI’s opportunity gives me both the theological teachings and allows me to draw closer to God. Therefore, I have a more intimate relationship with God. The education I will get from the different CLI courses will be helpful in our family ministry, my calling, and even in my future.
As a pastor’s kid and soon to be a pastor’s wife, the knowledge I will get from the free Biblical ministry education at CLI will enable me to create strong connections first with God, my family, my future spouse, friends, other young people, and our church. The CLI training will allow me to become an instrument to bless the people I encounter and draw more souls to God. Thank you, CLI!
