Serving My Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ
My name is Zechariah Kasina. I live in India and have a deep desire to learn God’s word more intimately as I serve the Lord Jesus. Looking for formal biblical ministry training for the ministry, I found the Christian Leaders Institute.
Early Life and Conversion
I am the older child of my parents, who were very poor, working on daily wages by doing weaving work. Born in 1988, I grew up as a Hindu as my family were Hindu and very religious believers. Though my family was poor, my parents always encouraged us to be humble, content, and loving people. I am the first person in our family to graduate. I thank God for my parents, who persuaded me to study.
After I finished my graduation, I moved to a different city for my job. There, I met my wife, who shared the Gospel with me. At that time, I was in a dark season of my life. Addicted to alcohol and smoking, I wasted money and time with bad habits. When I met my wife, her innocence attracted me, and I fell in love. I tried to persuade her to love me. But she said no.
However, she continued our friendship and invited me to her church. I went to church to impress her, but God had another plan. I listened to the sermons without knowing the Word of God working in me. Through the Word of God, I came to know how wretched I was and how much I needed Jesus for my salvation. I repented of my sins and invited the Lord Jesus to be the Savior of my life. The night I prayed this prayer the first time and decided to follow Jesus remains in my memory. I woke the next day and no longer had the desire to follow my sinful acts. I felt the peace of God in my heart and surrendered my life to Jesus.
Gospel Ministry Dream
From the time I became a Christian, I always looked for opportunities to share the Gospel with others in my personal and professional life. I also served in churches on the Tech team every Sunday and in evangelical meetings multiple times. I also have a blog in my native language through which I share the Word of God with other believers. Furthermore, I share the gospel through that blog.
Living for the gospel is not always easy. I faced many obstacles from the people who were known and unknown. When the gospel convicts people, they often turn on the messenger and abuse the messenger. However, I believe that through trials and tests, one grows in maturity. God humbled me in my low times as well as high times in the ministry.
Formal Biblical Ministry Training at CLI
Though I zealously share the Gospel throughout my life and bring Glory to God, I didn’t have any formal biblical ministry training. That is when I came across the Christian Leaders Institute. I thank God that there is a ministry such as CLI that offers free formal biblical ministry training for people like me. This training is very helpful in my understanding of different ministries and how well one can be equipped to be a Godly leader. Thank you, CLI.
