A Ministry Sciences Testamony
Meet Rachel Wright: A Testimony of How the Disciplines of Ministry Sciences Connect for Ministry
Notice how the arts intersect with ministry practice in her story.
Growing up in a broken home, I witnessed things no child should ever have to see. My home was filled with violence as my mother endured physical abuse from multiple partners and coped with her struggles through substance abuse. These experiences marked my early years with confusion and chaos, leaving deep emotional scars that took years to understand and heal.
From as far back as I can remember, I always had a love for Christ in my heart. I confessed my faith in Him early in life, but the pain and turmoil I witnessed at home began to harden my heart. As I grew older, the pain and frustration I carried manifested in destructive behaviors. The inner turmoil reflected in my actions, leading to a chaotic period where I struggled to find peace and direction. Watching my mother suffer at the hands of abusive men fueled my anger and resentment, eventually leading me to despise men. This deep-rooted anger, combined with the rebellion of my mid-adolescence, pushed me into a homosexual lifestyle during high school as I searched for an escape from the pain and confusion that surrounded me.
However, at the end of my senior year, right after graduation, God radically delivered me from that lifestyle and began to work on my heart. This life-altering encounter with the Lord transformed me from the inside out. Through a series of supernatural encounters and humbling events, I came to realize my desperate need for Him. In those moments of brokenness, I experienced God’s overwhelming presence, incredible grace, and limitless love in a profound way.
Through constant prayer, meditation, and reflection, God began to heal my deepest childhood wounds and restore my joy, enabling me to fully embrace my calling to serve Him and others. What began as a journey through deep pain and confusion has evolved into a mission of hope and inspiration. God’s radical intervention and healing power reshaped my life, turning my deepest wounds into a source of strength and ministry.
Several years later, God used my passion for speaking, writing, and music as powerful tools to launch my ministry in 2011. As I answered my calling and embraced my passions, I found a new sense of direction and fulfillment. My gifts became the means through which I could share His message, allowing me to connect with people of all ages through preaching, teaching, and writing Christian hip-hop music that reflects His love and truth. Through these avenues, I found my purpose in serving the Kingdom, using my talents to inspire and uplift those around me. As I continue to serve in His name, I am dedicated to helping others find their own path to healing and purpose, all for the glory of God!
