A Desire for Ministry Training to Live a Life Worthy
My name is Amanda Isaacs. I’m 40 years old and live in a small town in the beautiful, mountain state of West Virginia, USA. My husband Dwayne, my high school sweetheart, and I have been married for 20 years, and we have a 13-year-old son named Jace. I am excited to be on this ministry training journey with the Christian Leaders Institute. I have had the opportunity to serve Christ through youth, women’s, and music ministry. However, I have always had a desire for ministry training and to take college courses. So, I want to study and learn at CLI.
My Walk with Christ and Desire for Ministry Training
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior at the age of seven and received baptism shortly after. It wasn’t until I was in my later teens, 19 to be exact, that I realized that it was time to make a true and sold out change. I wanted to have a committed and dedicated relationship with Christ. Please understand, I believe I was saved at the younger age of seven but did I understand what “die to myself” meant? No. So, I made a vow. From then on, I would “know what I believed and why” and build a strong relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I wish I could say it has been easy, but the battles have been hard and the trials have come strong. I suffer from Crohn’s disease and severe depression. These two diseases have done their damage, but I have a faithful God. I know that these “thorns in the flesh” are there so that I can minister to others. Therefore, I have a testimony and want to be able to share God with the world.
I truly appreciate this ministry education opportunity with CLI. I look forward to what God is going to do! My desire for ministry training flows from this verse: “Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” (Ephesians 4:1)
