What is Ministry Sciences?

Ministry Sciences is the systematic study of Biblical-based and creation-revealed insights connecting humans into a redemptive and transformative relationship with God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Biblical Foundation

Ministry Sciences is deeply rooted in Scripture, drawing from the Bible to guide our steps today. The early church, as described in Acts 6, appointed ministers (deacons) to address practical issues, marking the beginning of specialized ministry. This passage shows the early church’s approach to addressing physical needs, such as food distribution, and emotional needs, like the grief of widows. It also highlights the importance of effective administration and the use of human capital.

The apostles prioritized the overall ministry, navigating conflicts and ensuring fair treatment, such as addressing racial injustices in food distribution. They were deeply concerned with the ministry of reconciliation and maintaining unity within the church. By solving these issues, they not only connected Jewish and Greek widows but also possibly fostered new relationships, potentially even matchmaking for kingdom marriages. Widows at that time were often young and could remarry, and the church has a history of facilitating meaningful connections for the advancement of God’s kingdom.

This holistic approach to ministry—addressing physical, emotional, and administrative needs while navigating conflicts and fostering community—exemplifies the essence of Ministry Sciences.

The Apostle Paul’s words to Timothy emphasize the importance of continuous learning and personal development in ministry: “Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save yourself and those who hear you” (1 Timothy 4:15-16, WEB).

Paul also highlights the call to equip the saints for ministry in Ephesians: “He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12, WEB).
