Ministry to Bring the Truth of God’s Word Everywhere
Hi! I am Deandrea Mitchell. A single adult, I’m 31 and live in Illinois in the USA. Currently, I do not have any children, but I do aspire to have a family of my own someday. I work full-time as an inspector of aerospace, automotive, and industrial parts for one of the biggest aluminum plants in the world. I am also a student at the Christian Leaders Institute to gain as much biblical knowledge for ministry as I can.
My Youth
Born and raised in the inner city of Chicago, I grew up with seven siblings in a three-bedroom apartment. Further, I have three other siblings that I did not grow up with. Growing up in Chicago was tough due to the violence and other social/environmental factors faced in a city like Chicago. These included bullying, drug dealing, and gang bangers. As a kid, I also endured things like verbal, physical, and emotional abuse, neglect, and a host of other things. Mine was not a Christian home. I found the Lord at 19 years old. Truth be told, the Lord found me.
My Calling Journey
I received the Lord’s call 12 years ago when I was 19 years old. A stranger at the time, whose occupation was a bus driver, called me up to the front of the bus. Quite honestly, it was a bad day for me, so I sat way in the back to be alone. In an effort to summarize this story, the bus driver was a prophet of God. He called me to the front of the bus, which was very awkward. Then, he prophesied to me right then and there. He continued driving the bus and dropping off the civilians at their destinations.
Wow! This prophet told me some amazing things that God was going to do in my life. It made absolutely no sense to me at that time. He invited me to his church. So, I went and stayed at that church for four years. I grew in the Lord and developed my gifts. Then, I began dating my pastor’s daughter. One thing led to another and we ended things. I was hurt, which led me to backslide for seven years.
Thankfully, I turned back to the Lord! I have a deeper relationship and understanding of who He is. Things are better and better as I walk with God. I’m excited! Thank God for Romans 11:29, “The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
Biblical Knowledge for Ministry at CLI
My main study interest at the Christian Leaders Institute is ordination in ministry. However, I feel in my spirit a hunger and thirst for more. As of right now, I will focus on ordination and see where the Lord leads me. My goal is to receive as much biblical knowledge for ministry as possible. I want to develop a firm foundation so I can be effective and used by the Lord. I feel such a potent call to preach and teach the Word of God with conviction, humility, and authority.
