Andrew Vanden Heuvel

Andrew Vanden Heuvel comes from a long line of preachers and teachers. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Andrew graduated from Calvin College and ultimately earned an M.S. in astrophysics from the University of Florida. He is the founding director of AGL Initiatives, where he teaches and develops online courses for the high school, college, and graduate level.
Andrew has received recognition for his innovative teaching methods including being named a National Online Teacher of the Year finalist, an Aspen Teacher Leader Fellow, and a Google Glass Explorer. Andrew is passionate about integrating his Christian faith with scientific discoveries of the natural world and has shared this passion by developing an astronomy course for the Christian Leaders Divinity Degree Program.
