God’s Call to Ministry School: Following His Plans

My name is Amy VanderLaan, and my home is in the state of Michigan in the United States of America. I am married with two beautiful children, a Golden St. Bernard named Sadie, and two cats, Tiger and Oliver. I am following God’s call to ministry school by studying at the Christian Leaders Institute.

I grew up in the church since birth. However, it was not until a crisis hit that I really felt like I got to know Christ personally. My parents separated at the end of my freshman year of high school and were divorced by the time I was a junior. Throughout my high school years, I attended a Vineyard Church. My youth pastor guided me to really get to know Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I attended Taylor University for the first three years of college. In my junior year of college at Taylor University, I met the love of my life. So, I decided to transfer to Cornerstone University for my senior year since it was a school closer to home. I graduated from Cornerstone University in December of 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

My Ministry Involvement and God’s Call to Ministry School

I have been the Student Ministries Director at InSpirit Church since 2013. Also, I have felt God calling me back to school for some time now. I am so excited about taking classes and learning more at the Christian Leaders Institute! My spiritual dream is to bring as many people as I can into a relationship with Christ as I follow His plan for my life.
