“These investigations led to a renewing of faith led by the Holy Spirit for discernment and out of fear that all I knew to be true was disappearing. I felt like God needed all His people to “hide His word in our hearts” just as He ordered. As I studied and read, my calling re-emerged in the forefront as God calls to me and I prayed God would show me how to follow His call for me.”
When God Calls, Answer
My name is Aimee Cain, and I was born and raised in West Virginia, in the USA. I was raised in church because my grandfather, now retired, was the Pastor. I knew all about The Word and Christianity. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was in the 2nd grade. Church attendance was three times a week and Bible stories, bedtime prayers, and memory verses were the extent of my walk with God.
As I became a teenager, I got my call at church camp one summer. Then they asked for adults to come and stand behind the future leaders, and they said a prayer for the mentors and mentees going forward. The catch was no one stood behind me. No one wanted to be my mentor. It was just more rejection in my life and I slid. I did all the things I knew I shouldn’t because I was rejecting those I felt rejected me. Or maybe they couldn’t see that God calls to me or didn’t think I was capable. So I rejected them.
As an adult, my calling pulled at me again. God wanted me back and a few times I went back. But I never explored my calling again, and when God brought it up, I ran. I wasn’t going to feel like that again. I was hurt and needed healing and to forgive.
A few years back, I became obsessed with the “Mandela effect” and started seeing the Bible changes and documenting them. There were all these people who knew the Bible like I did and saw word changes. It made me start reading my Bible again and praying.
These investigations led to a renewing of faith led by the Holy Spirit for discernment and out of fear that all I knew to be true was disappearing. I felt like God needed all His people to “hide His word in our hearts” just as He ordered. As I studied and read, my calling re-emerged in the forefront as God calls to me and I prayed God would show me how to follow His call for me. About the same time, I received a message from my brother, whom I hadn’t spoken to in years. He wanted to let me know he was attending a seminary and God told him about my calling.
I searched the internet before to look for a free college, free seminary education, etc. All I found at first was either secular education or free missionary training I had to uproot my new husband and children for. There was even one that was similar to the missionary training but just for men. But this time, I found Christian Leaders Institute and I started praying. God said “Here and Now” so I started.
I see opportunities opening up, so I’m praying God shows me if these opportunities are where God wants me to serve or not. I pray God leads me where I need to be and shows me how to best serve in His kingdom. I think I know where God is leading me and what He is calling me to do, but I continue praying for guidance. I want to make sure what I do is His will, not mine.
