Christian Journey

Christian Journey

My name is Samantha and I am on a Christian journey with God. I’m a 37-year-old single mom. I met God through heartache at the beginning of this year. I got divorced in 2011 and since then have looked for a partner to fill the gap, for myself and my children. This last disappointment was different though. He was a man of God. And although it hurt at the time, I soon realized he wasn’t there for me. But, he was there to draw me closer to God. I then became hungry for God. Tried several different churches – some as far as 45 minutes drive away from where I stay. Eventually, I found the right one for me and my children. It is Christian Encounter Church in Centurion under Pastor Leon Du Preez.

Within weeks of joining the church, it became clear to me that I needed to change my path, my destiny. I worked in corporate for the last 10 years and was dissatisfied – despite being really good at what I did. I quit my job in March, but only left the company at the end of May due to some restrictions. But during this time, I started a business involving motivational talks to kids.

Once I was free from my previous job, I realized fairly quickly that I still wasn’t on the right path. I am working on developing more of a deep connection with Jesus. I’m unemployed and will have to move back to my folks soon because of the stability I need for my boys. But, I am happier than I’ve ever been. I’m hungry for God on my Christian journey. I’m googling, networking myself, and trying to find where I can get in to serve and learn. I have peace. I’m so excited for what God has in store for me both here at Christian Leaders Institute and in my future. Every day is a new day and a new challenge. I know it will be very soon that I will have my full testimony to share. There’s a lot going on, but I have placed full faith in Jesus and God the Father and know things are going to come together. I can already feel it – even though I don’t see the full picture yet. God is at work!
