WYOMING'S STATE LAW
To lead weddings in Wyoming, it’s essential to be familiar with the state’s specific rules. Wyoming generally allows ordained ministers and designated representatives of recognized religions to oversee wedding ceremonies.
- Ordination or Authorization: In Wyoming, officiants need to be ordained ministers or authorized figures of a known religious group.
- Documentation: If requested by local officials where the wedding is happening, officiants may need to provide proof of their ordination or authorization.
- Legal Age: In Wyoming, those wishing to officiate a wedding must be at least 18 years old.
- Residency: Wyoming doesn’t demand that wedding officiants reside in the state. They can come from any state or country.
