Hello, my name is Lanna Pritchett. I live in Arkansas in the United States. Called to ministry, I am learning more about God and His kingdom at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about online free Bible courses, Click Here).
My Journey
As a child, I lived in Canada with my family. It was a hard life. My mother had a problem with drugs and alcohol. So, I was a “latch-key-kid” from a young age. My siblings and I were alone most of the time. We did whatever we wanted. Around the age of twelve, I went to live with my grandmother in the United States. It was a lot better life than before. My grandmother was a good God-fearing woman. However, I was a handful on and off.
Thankfully, I straightened out for a while and had a family and a good job. Then, one day, I simply gave up. Looking back, it wasn’t so sudden, but at the time, it seemed that way. I walked out and started using drugs. During this time, I did a lot of things most people wouldn’t do on their worst days. I tried to go to rehab, but it didn’t work. Then, I made a very bad decision. I went for a ride that would change my life.
Changed and Walking with God
On this ride, the people I was with stole some things and told me I was “helping out.” I found out the truth the next day sitting in jail on felony charges. It gave me time to think about what my life really meant to me. It took about a year to figure out what God knew all along. I ended up in a shelter with a discipleship program. I was clean and sober for the first time in a while.
As I grew in my walk with the Lord, I learned that I am called to preach, teach, and minister the Gospel. I was amazed that God would choose me. I was still going to court on my felony charges, and my family wasn’t sure if my change was real. Yet, I continued learning more and more about God. It took almost three years, and the court deferred my charges for two years. This means I must continue God’s path, and it will all be thrown out of court. God is so good!
Learning about God and His Kingdom at CLI
About six months later, God started restoring my family to me as well. I am so thankful to be a child of God and that God does things in my life. Since I have been walking with God, I give back to my community in any way I can. So, I serve on the local homeless coalition, help in recovery programs, and serve at my local church and other community programs.
I am truly sorry for the offenses I have committed. I am still learning many things about God and His Kingdom. The Biblical and ministry classes at the Christian Leaders Institute have helped a great deal. Thank you, CLI, for making these classes available to everyone. I am so glad that God is restoring my family and helping me move forward in His divine plan for my life! I choose life today!
